Gurugram: BMW India has opened pre-launch bookings for the all-new BMW 7 Series range, giving customers the option to choose between internal combustion engine and battery-electric powertrains as the German luxury carmaker prepares to introduce its flagship sedan in the country.
Bookings opened at 12:30 pm on August 1, 2026, and can be made through BMW India’s authorised dealer network. Prospective customers can also register their interest through the company’s India website.
The new 7 Series will be offered across ICE and BEV options, allowing BMW to cater to buyers who still prefer a conventional engine as well as those ready to make the move to an all-electric luxury sedan. In other words, even at the top end of the market, the powertrain debate remains very much alive.
BMW says the latest 7 Series combines the traditional attributes of a luxury-class sedan with technology derived from its Neue Klasse programme, with an increased emphasis on digital functions for both front- and rear-seat occupants.
On the outside, the flagship sedan receives a more monolithic design treatment, accompanied by BMW’s illuminated kidney grille, called the BMW kidney Iconic Glow, and minimalist crystal headlights. The styling continues the 7 Series’ preference for making its presence known rather than quietly slipping into the executive car park.
Inside, BMW has focused on premium materials, contemporary design and advanced technology. The company says the cabin has been developed around an expansive digital user experience designed to serve both the driver and passengers.
The 7 Series sits at the top of BMW’s sedan portfolio and traditionally serves as a showcase for the company’s latest comfort, connectivity and technology features. The availability of both combustion-engine and fully electric versions also reflects the broader transition underway in the luxury-car segment, where manufacturers are increasingly offering customers multiple routes towards electrification rather than betting on a single powertrain.
BMW India has not disclosed pricing or detailed variant specifications in the booking announcement. Customers can view highlights of the all-new BMW 7 Series and register their interest through the BMW India website.
With pre-launch bookings now underway, the new 7 Series is set to become another important test of how India’s luxury-car buyers balance traditional flagship-sedan appeal with the industry’s accelerating shift towards electric mobility.
