Honda Revs Up Southern India: Breaks Ground on High-Tech Spare Parts Warehouse in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, April 15, 2024 – Honda is accelerating its commitment to enhanced customer service with the ground-breaking of its futuristic spare parts warehouse in Doddaballapura, Bengaluru. Set to streamline Honda’s spare parts distribution for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and power products, the facility promises to be a game-changer for service efficiency in Southern India.

Managed by Honda Cars India, the new establishment aims to bolster operations across the Honda family, including Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Honda India Power Products. With an initial development phase covering a 60,000 square meter plot and 25,000 square meters of enclosed space, the facility is poised for operational debut by the first quarter of FY’25-26. Stretching across a total area of 140,000 square meters, it’s designed to ensure Honda parts are readily available at dealerships, significantly enhancing the customer service landscape.

Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing its alignment with Honda’s customer-centric objectives. “The inception of our new warehouse in Bengaluru marks a milestone in our journey towards ensuring prompt and efficient availability of spare parts. This initiative not only reinforces our service capability in the southern region but also prepares us for the forthcoming electrification transition,” Tsumura remarked.

Strategically positioned near Bengaluru International Airport and close to Honda’s 2Wheelers manufacturing plant, the warehouse’s design prioritizes ergonomic excellence, safety, and productivity. It will feature the latest in modern equipment and lay a strong emphasis on environmental conservation. Initiatives include Rainwater Harvesting, a Drinking Water Treatment Plant, a Sewage Treatment Plant, the use of natural lighting, green electricity, and natural air circulation, making it a beacon of sustainability.

The warehouse’s first phase will utilize a 25,000 square meter covered area, with additional phases planned to meet future demands. This new facility is set to complement Honda’s existing spare parts infrastructure across India, significantly strengthening its national support network.

The ambitious project will be executed by Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company (SMCC), promising a blend of Japanese precision with Indian innovation. As Honda gears up to enhance its logistical backbone in Bengaluru, customers across the region can look forward to experiencing a new level of service excellence and efficiency.
