Mumbai: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported total passenger vehicle sales of 63,760 units in July 2026, up 59% year-on-year from 40,175 units sold in July 2025, supported by strong domestic demand and a sharp increase in electric vehicle volumes.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 62,611 units during the month, compared with 39,521 units in July last year, representing a 58% increase.
The company’s international passenger vehicle business also recorded significant growth, albeit from a smaller base. Sales rose 76% to 1,149 units, against 654 units in July 2025.
EV sales more than double
Electric vehicles were among the strongest-performing parts of Tata Motors’ July numbers.
Combined domestic and international EV sales reached 15,217 units, up 114% from 7,124 units in the corresponding month last year. In other words, EV volumes did not merely join the growth story — they accelerated well ahead of the overall passenger vehicle business.
EVs accounted for roughly 24% of Tata Motors’ total passenger vehicle sales during July, based on the reported monthly figures.
The company said its overall passenger vehicle total includes EV sales.
| Business unit/segment | July 2026 | July 2025 | Growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| PV Domestic | 62,611 | 39,521 | 58% |
| PV International Business | 1,149 | 654 | 76% |
| PV Total, including EVs | 63,760 | 40,175 | 59% |
| EV Domestic + International | 15,217 | 7,124 | 114% |
The figures include sales of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.
The July performance shows that Tata Motors’ growth was spread across domestic, overseas and electric vehicle operations, with EVs recording the fastest year-on-year expansion. The coming months will indicate whether that pace can be sustained as competition intensifies across India’s passenger vehicle and electric mobility markets.
