Ferrari’s Elite Racing Beasts Turn Mugello into Their Personal Playground

Maranello Madness! On March 14, 2024, the Mugello International Circuit was taken over by Ferrari’s latest brainchild—the Sport Prototipi Clienti programme. This spectacle featured the debut of the Ferrari 499P Modificata, a beast born from the Hypercar champion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023, dazzling a select group of Maranello’s clientele with its prowess.

The 499P Modificata, a treasure available to a limited number of the elite, took to the 5.245-kilometer track for some private thrill on Thursday, March 14. The action didn’t stop there; the following two days saw this mechanical marvel sharing the track with the legendary F1 Clienti single-seaters and the otherworldly XX Programme cars, turning the Tuscan circuit into a playground for the privileged.

This event marked the first public outing for the 499P Modificata since its revelation at the 2023 Ferrari Finali Mondiali. With modifications that push beyond the constraints of FIA WEC’s regulations, this vehicle is a dream for drivers seeking to unleash the full potential of its hybrid powertrain, combining a V6 combustion engine with an electric unit for a staggering output of 870 hp. It even features a “Push To Pass” button for that extra burst of speed, making it the ultimate toy for grown-ups.

The spectacle also featured seven F1 Clienti single-seaters, including a nod to history with a Ferrari F138, the last of its kind with a V8 engine, and two F2007s, celebrating Ferrari’s double victory in 2007 with Kimi Räikkönen. The XX Programme showcased 17 examples of non-road legal vehicles, pushing technological boundaries to their limits, with the Ferrari FXX-K Evo leading the charge with its 1050 hp hybrid engine.

Looking ahead, the Sport Prototipi Clienti, F1 Clienti, and XX Programme are set to conquer circuits across the globe, from the rolling hills of Sonoma to the historic tarmac of the Nürburgring, culminating at the Finali Mondiali in Imola come October.

Buckle up, because Ferrari is not just racing; they’re rewriting the rules of track day fun, one exotic location at a time.
