Lexus Sets Luxury and Adventure on a Collision Course with New LBX and GX Models

In an announcement that has the automotive world buzzing with anticipation, Lexus Australia has rolled out the red carpet for its latest luxury contenders—the sleek LBX and the robust GX—setting the stage for their grand entrance onto the Aussie market in the upcoming months.

Mark your calendars for 18 March, as the LBX, Lexus’s latest luxury compact car, makes its stylish debut in showrooms. With a starting price of $47,550 (INR 25.69 lakh) plus on-road costs for the LBX Luxury 2WD, this urban SUV is dressed to impress. For those seeking an extra dash of opulence, the LBX Sports Luxury 2WD can be snagged for $52,990 plus on-road costs, while the pinnacle of plushness, the LBX Sports Luxury AWD, will set you back $56,990 (INR 30.79 lakh) plus on-road costs.

John Pappas, Lexus Australia’s Chief Executive, couldn’t hide his excitement, proclaiming the LBX as a revolution on wheels. “The LBX redefines what it means to be a premium compact car, merging hybrid efficiency with unmatched luxury,” Pappas enthused. He predicts the LBX will not only lure in the well-heeled youth but also tempt existing Lexus loyalists looking for a weekend toy or a chic downsizing option.

But the LBX isn’t the only ace up Lexus’s sleeve. The GX off-roader is gearing up to make a splash from mid-2024, marking the brand’s ninth major launch down under in just over two and a half years. This luxury SUV beast, part of a seven-strong lineup, promises to deliver Lexus’s signature blend of luxury and ruggedness, tailor-made for Australia’s demanding terrains.

Starting at $116,000 plus on-road costs for the GX 550 Luxury, complete with 20-inch alloy wheels, the GX series aims to please. The GX Sports Luxury ups the ante with 22-inch wheels and a host of additional comforts for $128,200 (INR 69.28 lakh) plus on-road costs. And for the adventurers, the GX Overtrail, priced at $122,250 (INR 66.06 lakh) plus on-road costs, offers unique off-road features and all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels.

Lexus ensures the luxury doesn’t end with the purchase. GX and LBX owners are treated to a complimentary three-year membership to Lexus Encore, adding VIP offers, exclusive event invitations, and a suite of premium services to the ownership experience.

With the launch of these models, Lexus not only promises a driving experience that’s a cut above but also adds a touch of humor and luxury to the daily commute, proving once again that when it comes to luxury and performance, they’re not just playing around.
