Ferrari Meets Solar Power: CEO Benedetto Vigna Visits Goldi Solar’s Gujarat Facility

Kosamba (Surat), Gujarat: When the boss of one of the world’s most iconic supercar brands visits a solar factory in India, you know the conversation is going to be a little brighter—quite literally.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna recently visited the manufacturing facility of Goldi Solar in Kosamba, Gujarat, accompanied by his sister Chiara Vigna and Jade Fariello, Marketing Director for FAR & APAC. During the visit, Vigna also met Goldi Solar founders Ishver Dholakia and Dhruv Dholakia, turning what might have been a routine factory tour into an engaging exchange of ideas about technology, sustainability, and precision engineering.

Goldi Solar described the visit as a meeting of two world-class manufacturing philosophies. According to the company, the discussions went beyond the factory floor and focused on shared values—precision manufacturing, uncompromising quality, and sustainability embedded across every stage of production.

“We were honoured to host Mr. Benedetto Vigna along with Ms. Jade Fariello and Ms. Chiara Vigna at our Kosamba manufacturing facility,” Goldi Solar said in a statement, highlighting the inspiring exchange of ideas between the two organizations.

Ferrari Meets the Sun

For Dhruv Dholakia, the meeting was not just about business—it was also about admiration.

“It was a pleasure hosting Benedetto Vigna at our facilities. Thank you for keeping your promise to visit Surat despite your tight schedule with the launch of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa,” he said.

Dholakia added that he was impressed by Vigna’s “techno-centric mind, vision and passion for driving sustainability and making Ferrari net-zero.”

While Ferrari is known for roaring V8s and V12s, the visit underlined how even legendary performance brands are increasingly looking toward sustainability. And where better to talk about clean energy than inside one of India’s largest solar manufacturing hubs?

Diamonds, Cars and Craftsmanship

The visit also included discussions with Dhruval Dholakia, CEO of Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd., a leading diamond company.

He drew an interesting comparison between Ferrari’s engineering and the craft of diamonds.

“Ferrari and Shree Ramkrishna Exports may belong to different industries, yet they move with a strikingly similar instinct—guided by purposeful innovation and a refusal to accept anything less than perfect,” he noted.

During the visit, Vigna observed the company’s crafting facility, witnessing firsthand the precision and discipline behind diamond craftsmanship.

The exchange, Dhruval said, highlighted how iconic cars and finely cut diamonds share a common philosophy—they are not simply manufactured, but carefully brought to life through patience, vision, and extraordinary attention to detail.

The Mind Behind Ferrari’s Technology Push

Benedetto Vigna is not a typical automotive CEO. Before joining Ferrari in June 2021, he built a reputation as a pioneering technologist.

Earlier in his career, Vigna and his team developed the three-axis accelerometer, a motion sensor that revolutionized multiple industries. Initially used in automotive airbags, the sensor later found its way into everyday technology—including the Nintendo Wii controller and smartphone screen rotation.

With more than 200 patents to his name and numerous awards—including the IEEE Frederik Philips Award for MEMS innovation—Vigna’s engineering-driven leadership style has shaped Ferrari’s modern strategy.

A Solar Giant from India

Founded in 2011, Goldi Solar has rapidly grown into one of India’s leading solar panel manufacturers, EPC service providers, and independent power producers.

The company recently completed a massive expansion of its manufacturing capacity—from 3 GW to 15.2 GW in just 14 months, making it India’s largest Solar PV module manufacturing company. Its high-efficiency solar modules are supplied across India and multiple global markets.

A Visit That Sparked Ideas

While Ferrari builds some of the world’s fastest cars and Goldi Solar manufactures panels that capture the power of the sun, the visit revealed an interesting intersection between performance engineering and sustainable technology.

And if the meeting proved anything, it’s this: whether it’s a Ferrari supercar or a solar module, precision engineering and passion for innovation remain universal languages.

After all, even the most powerful Ferrari still needs a bright future—and thanks to conversations like these, that future might just be powered by the sun.
