In a world where art often starves while hashtags thrive, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has once again rolled up its sleeves – and probably its kurta sleeves too – to splash some hope back into the creative community. Celebrating World Art Day like true palette patriots, Hyundai launched Season 5 of its flagship initiative ‘Hyundai Art for Hope’, now officially older than most pop bands.
Beginning May 1, 2025, applications will open on hyundaiartforhope.com, inviting artists across India to dream big, paint bold, and maybe even pay rent. This season, HMIF will extend its support to 50 deserving artists and art collectives—with a mix of financial grants, mentorship, and a national platform that could make even a street mural blush.

Since 2021, the program has splashed out a total of ₹1.65 crore in grants to over 150 artists. And no, that’s not just “exposure” money. We’re talking real, bank-account-happy cash. All this while uplifting more than 25,000 creators via workshops, exhibitions, and more feel-good moments than a Bollywood dance finale.
Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head at HMIL, shared,
“There’s no better occasion than World Art Day to celebrate creativity – unless of course, you count every brainstorming session with five post-its and a whiteboard.”
“Through ‘Art for Hope’, we’re not just supporting artists; we’re preserving culture, celebrating talent, and ensuring our future museums aren’t just filled with AI art and motivational posters.”
Here’s how the art gets its part:
🎨 Grant Highlights:
- 40 Individual Grants of ₹1 lakh (open to individuals, teams, and artists with disabilities)
- 10 Institutional Grants of ₹2 lakh (for collectives, institutions, and multi-talented masterminds)
🖌️ Categories Include:

So whether you doodle, dramatize, digitize or dabble, there’s a category waiting with your name on it—possibly in cursive.
Applications are now just a few brushstrokes away. Artists are encouraged to visit hyundaiartforhope.com, submit their masterpieces-in-progress, and step onto a platform where hope isn’t just painted—it’s proudly funded.
Because in a world full of uncertainty, Hyundai’s here to say: “Art matters. And we’ve got the cheque to prove it.”
