New Delhi: NBC Bearings, a brand of National Engineering Industries Ltd., has expanded its automotive aftermarket business with the launch of a new range of vehicle components, including wiper blades, brake pads, belts and steering rods.
The company said the portfolio would cater to two-wheelers, three-wheelers and passenger cars, marking its entry into several automotive component categories beyond its traditional bearings and allied engineering businesses.
The move forms part of NBC Bearings’ broader diversification strategy as it seeks to increase its presence in India’s automotive replacement-parts market. The company is positioning the expansion as a step towards becoming a more comprehensive mobility solutions provider rather than remaining focused primarily on bearings.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Saboo, President & CEO said: “The Indian automotive aftermarket is witnessing unprecedented growth driven by increasing vehicle ownership, longer vehicle life cycles, and rising demand for quality replacement parts. As a trusted brand with decades of engineering excellence, NBC Bearings is uniquely positioned to leverage this opportunity. The launch of our expanded auto parts portfolio is a strategic step towards diversifying our business, strengthening our market presence, and creating new avenues of growth beyond bearings.”
NBC Bearings said the newly introduced products had been developed to meet the quality, performance and reliability standards associated with the brand. They will be supplied through the company’s distribution network across India, making them available to dealers, workshops and vehicle owners.
The expanded range includes components that routinely require inspection and replacement over the life of a vehicle. Wiper blades, braking components, belts and steering parts may not attract quite as much attention as a new car launch, but they tend to become remarkably important the moment one of them stops doing its job.
The company expects the broader product line to create additional business opportunities for its channel partners while allowing workshops and customers to access a wider range of components under the NBC brand.
The expansion also reflects the growing importance of the automotive aftermarket as vehicles remain on Indian roads for longer periods and owners increasingly seek dependable replacement components for maintenance and repairs.
NBC Bearings said the launch was aligned with its long-term focus on innovation, customer-centricity and sustainable growth. By moving into multiple aftermarket categories, the company is seeking to deepen its role across the automotive value chain and reduce its dependence on a narrower product segment.
The success of the strategy will ultimately depend on product availability, competitive pricing and acceptance among mechanics, retailers and vehicle owners. However, the expansion places NBC Bearings in a broader section of India’s mobility market, where the business of keeping vehicles running can be just as significant as selling new ones.
