Maruti Suzuki Posts Record Domestic Sales in July 2026, Total Sales Rise to 2.41 Lakh Units

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 2,41,421 units in July 2026, an increase of about 34% year-on-year from 1,80,526 units sold in July 2025, helped by sharply higher domestic demand and strong growth across its passenger vehicle portfolio.

The automaker said its domestic sales reached an all-time high of 2,00,123 units during the month. This figure, comprising passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, was about 42% higher than the 1,40,570 units recorded in the same month last year.

Sales to other original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, stood at 11,242 units, compared with 8,211 units in July 2025, while exports declined to 30,056 units from 31,745 units a year earlier.

The July numbers underline the strength of Maruti Suzuki’s home market performance, even as overseas shipments took a modest detour in the opposite direction.

Passenger vehicle sales rise sharply

Maruti Suzuki’s domestic passenger vehicle sales climbed to 1,96,203 units in July, up approximately 42% from 1,37,776 units a year earlier.

Passenger cars — covering the Mini and Compact plus Mid-Size sub-segments — accounted for 1,03,456 units, compared with 72,662 units in July 2025.

The Mini segment, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, recorded sales of 12,634 units, up from 6,822 units a year ago.

The Compact and Mid-Size category, which includes the Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, contributed 90,822 units, compared with 65,840 units in July last year.

Utility vehicle sales jump nearly 50%

Utility vehicles remained one of Maruti Suzuki’s biggest volume drivers during the month.

The company sold 78,851 utility vehicles in July 2026, an increase of nearly 49% from 52,773 units in the corresponding month last year.

The category includes the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6.

Van sales, represented by the Eeco, rose to 13,896 units from 12,341 units in July 2025.

Meanwhile, the company’s Super Carry light commercial vehicle recorded sales of 3,920 units, compared with 2,794 units a year earlier.

April-July sales cross 9.24 lakh units

Maruti Suzuki’s strong July performance also lifted its cumulative sales for the first four months of FY2026-27.

Between April and July 2026, the company sold a total of 9,24,145 units, up about 30% from 7,08,387 units during the corresponding period of FY2025-26.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales during the four-month period stood at 7,21,431 units, compared with 5,31,348 units a year earlier.

Domestic sales including light commercial vehicles increased to 7,34,930 units from 5,42,652 units, while total domestic sales including supplies to other OEMs reached 7,69,353 units, against 5,79,670 units in the year-ago period.

Exports remained another significant contributor on a cumulative basis, rising to 1,54,792 units during April-July FY2026-27, compared with 1,28,717 units in the same period last year, despite the year-on-year decline recorded specifically in July.

With domestic volumes hitting a new record and utility vehicles delivering some of the strongest growth, Maruti Suzuki has begun FY2026-27 with considerable momentum. The coming months will show whether that pace can be sustained as India’s passenger vehicle market moves deeper into the festive-season buying cycle.
