Starry Discounts: Mercedes-Benz India Slashes Prices After GST 2.0, Luxury Now a Tad More Attainable

Delhi – For those who always thought Mercedes-Benz ownership required a winning lottery ticket, here’s some refreshing news: the German luxury marque has announced price reductions across its ICE car and SUV portfolio, thanks to GST 2.0 reforms.

“In line with our commitment to our customers, we are pleased to share that Mercedes-Benz India will be passing on the entire benefit of the GST reduction directly to the end customers,” said a company spokesperson, sounding as polished as an S-Class grille.

What’s New Under GST 2.0?

  • Revised GST on all Mercedes-Benz cars (except EVs) now stands at 40% (effective September 22, 2025), pending final notification.
  • EVs continue to enjoy their 5% GST holiday, a perk that makes your EQE SUV smugly grin at its petrol cousins.

Showroom Sticker Shock—But in Reverse

  • GLS 450d AMG Line: From ₹1.44 crore → ₹1.34 crore (₹10 lakh shaved off)
  • A200d: From ₹48.55 lakh → ₹45.95 lakh (₹2.6 lakh cheaper, student-friendly by Merc standards)
  • GLC 300 4Matic: From ₹79.25 lakh → ₹73.95 lakh (₹5.3 lakh down, more room for designer sunglasses)
  • S 450 4Matic: From ₹1.99 crore → ₹1.88 crore (₹11 lakh saved, still doesn’t fit in your average garage)
  • C 300 AMG Line: From ₹68 lakh → ₹64.30 lakh (₹3.7 lakh less, AMG thrills with fewer bills)
  • GLE 450 4Matic: From ₹1.15 crore → ₹1.07 crore (₹8 lakh back in the bank, maybe enough for a down payment on a golf membership)
  • E-Class LWB 450 4Matic: From ₹97 lakh → ₹91 lakh (₹6 lakh saved, chauffeur still included separately).

With festive season lurking around the corner, Mercedes-Benz has effectively given India’s luxury buyers a “treat yourself” coupon straight from Berlin. While the savings may not make an S-Class owner bat an eyelid, they might just convince someone on the fence that a three-pointed star in the driveway is worth more than a couple of crores in the bank.

After all, as every Mercedes-Benz buyer knows—money can’t buy happiness, but it can certainly buy a GLE 450, and right now, it buys one a little cheaper.
