Suzuki Launches Innovative Fourth-Generation Swift Hybrid in the UK and Ireland

In a significant advancement in compact car technology, Suzuki has officially announced the launch of its fourth-generation Swift Hybrid. Set to hit the markets of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland in April 2024, this latest iteration of the Swift series brings forward a combination of enhanced aesthetics, superior performance, and groundbreaking fuel efficiency.

The all-new Swift Hybrid introduces the Z12E 1.2-litre Mild Hybrid three-cylinder engine, marking an up to 8% improvement in fuel efficiency over its predecessor, the K12D engine. Emphasizing its eco-friendly credentials, the vehicle boasts CO2 emissions of just 99g/km and an impressive combined fuel consumption of 64.2mpg for the manual transmission Motion model.

Maintaining its compact dimensions to underscore Suzuki’s prowess in small car manufacturing, the new Swift is available in two models: Motion and Ultra grades. The Motion grade is anticipated to be the bestseller, equipped with a high specification including LED headlights, a 9-inch media display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a suite of safety features such as Blind Spot Monitor and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Innovations extend to the Swift’s platform with Suzuki’s ‘HEARTECT’ strategy, which achieves a remarkable kerb weight of 949kg for the Motion grade with manual transmission. Additionally, an optional ALLGRIP ‘Auto’ 4WD will be introduced later in the year for the Ultra model with manual transmission.

This launch coincides with Suzuki GB celebrating 40 years of the Swift, highlighting the model’s enduring popularity and its global sales exceeding nine million units across 119 countries since its debut in 2004. The fourth-generation Swift is manufactured at Suzuki’s Sagara plant in Japan for the UK, Ireland, and the rest of Europe, continuing the legacy of innovation and quality that the Swift is known for.

With comprehensive standard equipment and advanced safety features across both grades, the new Swift Hybrid sets a new benchmark in the compact car segment. The introduction of Suzuki Connect and Service Activated Warranty further enhances the ownership experience, offering convenience and peace of mind to customers.

Suzuki’s commitment to evolution and innovation shines through in the fourth-generation Swift Hybrid, promising an exciting and efficient driving experience for compact car enthusiasts in the UK and Ireland.
