Maserati CEO Santo Ficili Visits India as Brand Launches Mumbai Showroom and New Luxury Car Line-Up

Mumbai: Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has announced a new phase of its India operations with the formal launch of Navnit Maserati in Mumbai, the introduction of its updated Grecale, GranTurismo and GranCabrio range, and the Indian debut of the 640-hp GT2 Stradale. The announcements coincided with the first official visit to India by Santo Ficili, CEO of Maserati and Alfa Romeo.

The event, held at Grand Hyatt Mumbai, marked a significant step in Maserati’s efforts to strengthen its presence in India’s luxury automotive market. Ficili was joined by Sharad Kachalia, Chairman and Managing Director of Navnit Maserati, as the two companies outlined their plans for Mumbai and Western India.

The newly established Navnit Maserati showroom, located at Trade Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), will serve as the manufacturer’s primary retail hub in the region. The facility will offer Maserati’s complete vehicle portfolio, manufacturer-approved aftersales services and a dedicated Fuoriserie configuration area, allowing customers to personalise their vehicles.

Maserati CEO Highlights India’s Strategic Importance

Ficili’s visit comes as Maserati seeks to develop its position in India’s premium automotive segment through selective dealership expansion, an updated product portfolio and a greater emphasis on customer experience.

“India is not simply a market of significant potential for Maserati; it is a strategic chapter in the future of luxury, shaped by a new generation of discerning customers with a strong appreciation for performance, craftsmanship and individuality. Our partnership with Navnit Maserati, together with the introduction of our new Trident range, underlines our long-term commitment to India. Through this partnership, we aim to build lasting relationships with our customers and deliver an ownership experience that reflects the very best of Italian Gran Turismo,” said Santo Ficili, CEO, Maserati and Alfa Romeo.

During his visit, Ficili also met key dealership partners, reviewed the company’s India market strategy and interacted with media representatives and customers.

New Maserati Grecale Starts at Rs 1.14 Crore

Among the major product announcements was the introduction of Maserati’s updated Trident range, which made its global debut in June 2026.

The revised Maserati Grecale features sharper front-end styling inspired by the MCPURA, alongside a new 390-hp engine option derived from the brand’s Nettuno V6 architecture. The all-electric Grecale Folgore also benefits from improvements to its driving range.

Prices for the updated Grecale start at Rs 1.14 crore (ex-showroom), positioning it within India’s competitive luxury performance SUV market.

Maserati has also introduced revised versions of the GranTurismo coupe and GranCabrio convertible. Both models receive updated exterior styling, including a more aggressive front-end design.

In Trofeo specification, the Nettuno V6 produces up to 590 hp. Meanwhile, the electric Folgore version benefits from an 80-km increase in WLTP driving range, taking the figure beyond 540 km.

The cabin updates extend across the range, introducing a racing-inspired steering wheel, an updated Maserati Digital Clock featuring an octagonal bezel, a redesigned PRND gear selector and improved digital interfaces.

Maserati’s Fuoriserie personalisation programme has also been expanded with additional exterior colours, trim combinations and coordinated badges. The GranCabrio’s fabric roof can now be extensively customised through the brand’s Bespoke programme.

For buyers seeking a more individual specification, the programme offers considerably more freedom than simply choosing between black, white and several shades of grey.

Maserati GT2 Stradale Makes Its India Debut With 640 HP

The headline performance attraction was the Maserati GT2 Stradale, which made its first appearance in India alongside the updated model range.

Developed as the road-legal counterpart to Maserati’s GT2 racing car, the GT2 Stradale draws on the manufacturer’s return to covered-wheel motorsport competition.

Built in Modena, Italy, the sports car is powered by a Nettuno V6 engine producing 640 hp, with power delivered to the rear wheels.

The GT2 Stradale sits at the upper end of Maserati’s performance portfolio alongside the MCPURA family. Its Indian debut gives prospective customers and enthusiasts an opportunity to see one of the manufacturer’s most track-focused road cars.

The decision to showcase the GT2 Stradale alongside its broader luxury range also reflects Maserati’s intention to maintain a connection between its motorsport activities and road-going vehicles.

Beyond the new vehicles, Maserati’s partnership with Navnit Group represents an important component of its distribution and customer service strategy in India.

Maher Abdalla, Managing Director, Maserati MEA, India & Turkey, said: “Our strategy in India is focused on sustainable growth, selective network expansion and an elevated client experience. Opening our doors in Mumbai with Navnit Maserati gives us a stronger foundation to serve clients across Western India. From day one, Fuoriserie will be part of that experience, allowing clients to express their individuality through a personal choice of colours, materials and finishes. With our new model range and Santo Ficili’s visit, this opening represents an important step in our long-term investment in India.”

The Mumbai facility is intended to provide a more integrated ownership experience, bringing together vehicle sales, aftersales support and bespoke configuration services.

Sharad Kachalia, Chairman and Managing Director, Navnit Maserati, said: “We are honoured to represent Maserati in Mumbai and Western India at such a pivotal moment for the brand. With the arrival of the new Trident range and the opening of this new facility, our focus is on delivering a world-class retail and aftersales experience that matches the character of the Trident. We are confident that Indian clients will respond strongly to this next chapter of Maserati’s journey.”

A Renewed Push Into India’s Luxury Car Market

Maserati’s latest announcements bring together three important elements of its India strategy: an expanded retail presence, a refreshed vehicle portfolio and greater opportunities for personalisation.

The introduction of the GT2 Stradale adds a performance-focused attraction, while the updated Grecale, GranTurismo and GranCabrio broaden the range of products available to Indian buyers.

However, introducing new vehicles is only one part of building a sustainable luxury car business. Dealership accessibility, reliable aftersales support and long-term customer relationships remain equally important, particularly in a market where buyers have an expanding selection of international luxury brands.

For Maserati, the Mumbai opening is therefore more than another dealership inauguration. It represents an effort to strengthen the company’s foundations in India, where the success of its latest chapter will ultimately depend not only on the appeal of its Italian performance cars, but also on the ownership experience delivered long after customers leave the showroom.
