New Delhi: BYD India has expanded its Sealion 7 electric SUV range with the launch of the new Dynamic variant, priced at an introductory ₹41.90 lakh, ex-showroom. Positioned as the new entry point to the premium electric SUV lineup, the Sealion 7 Dynamic uses a 71.8 kWh Blade Battery and delivers a claimed NEDC range of 520 km.
The new variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and is available in four exterior colours — Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White and Shark Grey.
With the addition of the Dynamic, the BYD Sealion 7 range in India now comprises three variants: Dynamic, Premium and Performance. The broader lineup gives buyers a choice of 71.8 kWh and 82.56 kWh Blade Battery configurations, allowing BYD to target a wider section of the premium electric vehicle market.
While the Dynamic sits below the existing variants in the lineup, BYD says it retains several of the technologies and features associated with the Sealion 7 family.
The electric SUV is based on BYD’s dedicated e-Platform 3.0 and incorporates the company’s Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body technology. It also features Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control, a panoramic glass roof, a rotating touchscreen infotainment system and a range of safety and driver-assistance systems.
Commenting on the launch, Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said, “The strategic expansion is a direct response to the tremendous success and overwhelming customer interest in the existing BYD Sealion 7 variants. With the introduction of the new Sealion 7 Dynamic, we are expanding the portfolio to cater to a more diverse customer base while offering increased options to potential buyers. As a new expression of Sealion 7, the Dynamic variant will further strengthen its position in India’s premium EV segment by bringing BYD’s advanced technologies, safety standards and sustainable mobility solutions within the reach of more customers.”

Festive benefits extended to Dynamic variant
The launch coincides with BYD India’s ongoing ‘Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD’ festive campaign, which began on August 1, 2026.
Under the offer, customers purchasing the Sealion 7 Dynamic can receive a complimentary 7kW home charger with installation, a 10-year roadside assistance coverage extension, and an extended warranty of 10 years on the LFP LV battery or 1.5 lakh km, whichever comes earlier.
The incentives give the latest variant a little more than just a lower entry price — useful ammunition in a premium EV market where charging and ownership costs increasingly form part of the buying calculation.
More than 4,000 Sealion 7s on Indian roads
BYD introduced the Sealion 7 in India in 2025. According to the company, more than 4,000 units of the electric SUV are currently in operation across the country.
The model has also received a maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
BYD highlighted several awards received by the Sealion 7 during 2026, including Luxury Mid-size SUV of the Year at the ACKO Drive TOTM 2026, Premium EV of the Year at the car&bike Awards 2026, Premium SUV of the Year at the TV9 Awards and Best EV Design at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026.
The company’s Blade Battery was also recognised as the Best New EV Battery Technology at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026, while BYD was named Pioneer in Battery Technology by Jagran Hi-Tech.
Separately, BYD ranked No. 91 on the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list, its fifth consecutive year on the index.
The introduction of the Sealion 7 Dynamic gives BYD a broader price spread within one of its key premium electric SUV offerings in India. As competition in the country’s higher-end EV market increases, expanding the range downward without creating an entirely new model could help BYD attract buyers who want its battery technology and premium positioning without stepping up to the more expensive Sealion 7 variants.
