Gurugram: JSW MG Motor India reported its highest-ever monthly wholesale sales for the second consecutive month in July 2026, dispatching 8,158 vehicles and recording a 22% year-on-year increase over July 2025.
The automaker said retail sales also remained robust for a second straight month, while its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) portfolio emerged as the primary growth driver.
NEVs recorded their highest-ever monthly wholesale volumes in July and accounted for more than 80% of JSW MG Motor India’s total sales during the month. The contribution highlights the increasingly prominent role of electrified vehicles in the company’s overall product mix.
With more than four out of every five wholesale units coming from the NEV portfolio, electric mobility is no longer merely playing a supporting role in MG’s sales story.
JSW MG Motor India attributed the performance to customer demand across its portfolio of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles and New Energy Vehicles.
“Our performance in July is a reflection of the growing confidence that customers have placed in our brand. This strong performance, coupled with another month of robust retail sales, demonstrates the strength of our diverse portfolio and our ability to meet evolving customer aspirations. As we build on this momentum, we remain focused on expanding our portfolio, strengthening the customer experience, and introducing innovative ownership solutions such as MG ADAPT, while accelerating the adoption of sustainable mobility in India,” said Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India.
The company said its focus on technology, product innovation and customer-oriented offerings has helped sustain momentum across multiple vehicle segments.
The July numbers are particularly significant because they mark a second consecutive monthly wholesale record for the automaker, indicating that its recent sales momentum has extended beyond a single strong month.
The growing contribution from NEVs also illustrates how rapidly the composition of India’s passenger vehicle market is evolving. While conventional ICE models remain part of JSW MG Motor India’s portfolio, electrified vehicles are becoming increasingly important to the company’s volumes.
For JSW MG Motor India, maintaining record wholesales over consecutive months will now shift attention from reaching new sales peaks to sustaining them. More broadly, the company’s July performance adds another indicator that electric and other new-energy vehicles are moving steadily closer to the centre of India’s automotive market rather than remaining on its margins.
