A celebration of resilience, excellence, and India’s trailblazing athletes
Chandigarh – The echoes of triumph from the Paris 2024 Olympics were reignited in Chandigarh as India’s medal-winning Olympians were honored with the country’s pioneering electric CUV, the MG Windsor. In a gesture that celebrated their indomitable spirit and dedication, JSW Sports and JSW MG Motor India awarded these champions the keys to India’s first Intelligent CUV in a grand felicitation ceremony.
A Celebration of Sporting Brilliance
The Olympians who brought glory to the nation across disciplines such as javelin throw, shooting, wrestling, and hockey were applauded for their determination and excellence. These athletes were presented with their MG Windsors in the presence of notable dignitaries, including Parth Jindal, MD of JSW Cement & Paints and Founder of JSW Sports; Rajeev Chaba, CEO Emeritus of JSW MG Motor India; and Biju Balendran, MD of JSW MG Motor India. Key officials and dealer partners from MG also joined the celebration.
The MG Windsor: A New Chapter in Electric Mobility
Since its launch, the MG Windsor has set a new benchmark in India’s electric vehicle market, garnering over 15,000 bookings within 24 hours and claiming the top spot as October’s best-selling passenger electric car. Touted as a “business-class on wheels,” the Windsor seamlessly blends the comfort of a sedan with the grandeur of an SUV, offering premium features such as smart connectivity, aerodynamic design, and plush interiors.
Powered by a 38 kWh Li-ion IP67-certified battery pack, the Windsor delivers 100 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque, offering an impressive ARAI-certified range of 332 km on a single charge. With four driving modes—Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport—it caters to every driver’s preference.
Driving Innovation with Customer-Centric Features
MG Motor India’s customer-focused initiatives have been pivotal in boosting the Windsor’s appeal. Programs like Battery-As-A-Service, lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, assured 60% buyback after three years, and a year of complimentary charging via the eHUB app enhance ownership experience. These innovations underscore MG’s commitment to redefining electric mobility in India.
Inspiring a Generation
“This event is not just about celebrating achievements but inspiring future generations to dream big,” remarked Parth Jindal. “The grit and determination of our Olympians resonate with the values we uphold at JSW and MG.”
As India’s sports heroes drove away in their state-of-the-art MG Windsors, the event symbolized more than recognition—it was a testament to India’s growing prowess in both sports and sustainable technology.
