Revealed at the official practice for the upcoming Hyundai N Festival, this high-performance electric race car is poised to revolutionize sustainable racing.

Derived from the Ioniq 5 N, an award-winning high-performance EV, the Cup car version elevates racing standards with motorsport enhancements and increased durability for the rigors of circuit racing. “The unveiling of the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup car is a testament to our dedication to sustainable motorsport,” remarked Till Wartenberg, Vice President and Head of N Brand & Motorsport at Hyundai Motor.

Employing the robust power electronics system of its production counterpart, the race car delivers exhilarating performance with a total power output of up to 650 PS, thanks to its front and rear motors. Its design is optimized for the track, featuring slick tires, a high-downforce aero kit, and lightweight components for improved handling and safety.

The eN1 class, a new addition to the Hyundai N Festival, offers a competitive platform for teams to explore and advance in the burgeoning field of EV racing. The Cup car stands out with its sound enhancements, including the NGB overboost and virtual shift sounds, allowing teams to create unique auditory identities on the track.

Safety has not been overlooked, with the race car incorporating multiple safety features such as a multipoint welded roll cage, racing bucket seats, and fire extinguishers specifically designed for electric fires, ensuring the highest safety standards.

The Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup car is a significant step forward in Hyundai Motor’s long-standing commitment to motorsports and innovation. By introducing the eN1 class, Hyundai aims not only to lead in the EV racing domain but also to nurture Korea’s motorsport culture and impact the global racing scene.

As the Hyundai N Festival gears up for its inaugural EV racing season, beginning April 27 at Inje Speedium, the eN1 class is set to offer a mix of knockout and sprint races, providing a comprehensive platform for testing and refining EV racing methodologies.
