Range Rover Launches First-Ever Indian Manufacturing: A New Era of Luxury with A House in Alibaug

Range Rover House Opens in Alibaug: A New Era of Curated Luxury in India

Alibaug, India – May 24, 2024: In a landmark event, Range Rover has unveiled its first-ever Range Rover House in India, set in the exclusive coastal town of Alibaug. This luxurious venue showcases the brand’s commitment to the Indian market by introducing locally produced Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models for the first time.

A Milestone in Indian Manufacturing

Responding to the growing demand for luxury SUVs in India, Range Rover is set to produce the iconic Range Rover and Range Rover Sport at its Pune facility. This marks the first time these models will be manufactured outside the UK, reflecting a significant investment in the Indian market. This move will allow for shorter wait times and tailored offerings to meet the specific needs of Indian customers.

Global Heritage, Local Production

While Solihull, UK, remains the global hub for Range Rover’s operations, including the upcoming fully-electric models, the Pune facility will exclusively serve the Indian market. This expansion underscores the brand’s strategy to leverage India’s robust economic growth and increasing demand for luxury vehicles.

Executive Insights

Lennard Hoornik, Chief Commercial Officer of JLR, emphasized the importance of India’s market, noting the country’s economic rise and the opportunities it presents for localized luxury offerings. Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director of Range Rover, highlighted the unprecedented global demand for Range Rover vehicles, with India playing a crucial role in this success story. Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, expressed pride in India becoming the first country to locally manufacture the Range Rover, signifying a new chapter in the brand’s storied history.

Range Rover: Redefining Luxury and Performance

The new locally manufactured Range Rover models will include the 3.0 L Petrol Autobiography and the 3.0 L Diesel HSE, offering unmatched refinement and advanced technology. Deliveries will begin on May 24, 2024, with prices starting at ₹236 Lakh for the Diesel HSE LWB and ₹260 Lakh for the Petrol Autobiography LWB.

Range Rover Sport: The Pinnacle of Dynamic Capability

The Range Rover Sport models, available from August 16, 2024, will feature the 3.0 L Petrol Dynamic SE and the 3.0 L Diesel Dynamic SE, both priced at ₹140 Lakh. These models are designed to deliver exceptional on-road performance with signature Range Rover refinement.

Both models boast advanced features such as All-Wheel Steering, Dynamic Air Suspension, and cutting-edge infotainment systems. The interior of these vehicles combines modern design with superior comfort, ensuring a first-class experience for all occupants.

The local manufacturing initiative will bolster the presence of the Range Rover family in India, which includes the Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Evoque, and Jaguar F-Pace, all produced at the Pune facility. With 25 authorized outlets across 21 cities, JLR is committed to delivering its luxury vehicles to a broader Indian audience.

Range Rover House in Alibaug is more than just a showcase of luxury vehicles; it represents the brand’s dedication to providing an unparalleled customer experience in India. With a blend of British design excellence and local manufacturing prowess, Range Rover is poised to redefine luxury for the Indian market.
