Mumbai: Škoda Auto India has opened bookings for the all-new Kodiaq RS, introducing a limited-run performance version of its luxury SUV for the Indian market. The model will be restricted to just 50 units, making it one of the brand’s most exclusive launches in the country.
The Kodiaq RS arrives as Škoda marks two major milestones: more than 50 years of its RS badge and 125 years of its motorsport heritage. To accompany the launch, the company has also introduced its ‘Surrender’ campaign, aimed at highlighting the SUV’s performance and dynamic character.
At the centre of the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 195 kW, or 265 PS, and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through Škoda’s 7-speed DSG transmission. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 231 km/h, making it the quickest Škoda model launched in India.
For buyers who like their family SUV with a side order of drama, Škoda has also equipped the Kodiaq RS with Dynamic Sound Boost, designed to deliver a more engaging engine note. It is a reminder that practicality and performance do not always have to sit at opposite ends of the showroom.
The SUV also gets Progressive Steering, which is intended to improve agility while reducing steering effort at lower speeds. Škoda has added the latest generation of Dynamic Chassis Control Plus, offering 15 levels of damping adjustment ranging from comfort-focused settings to sportier responses.
The system works with Driving Mode Select, allowing drivers to choose from Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual and Snow modes, along with a dedicated Off-Road mode. Each mode adjusts damper settings and vehicle responses according to the driving conditions.
On the design front, the Kodiaq RS gets several RS-specific elements, including blacked-out exterior accents on the grille frame, outside rear-view mirrors, window trims, roof rails and D-pillars. The treatment gives the SUV a more assertive stance without straying too far from the Kodiaq’s familiar shape.
Inside, the cabin features black leather upholstery with red stitching, combining a sporty theme with the SUV’s luxury positioning. Customers can choose from four exterior colours: Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red and Steel Grey.
Bookings for the Kodiaq RS are now open through Škoda Auto India’s online booking platform. The company has listed bookings at a starting price of INR 300,000, ex-showroom.
With only 50 units available, the Kodiaq RS is likely to appeal to buyers looking for a more performance-focused alternative in the premium SUV space. Its arrival also signals Škoda’s intent to keep its RS badge visible in India, where enthusiasm often survives even when the roads have other plans.
