Electrifying Speed Meets Open-Air Elegance: MG Unveils the Cyberster EV Roadster

MG Motor UK electrifies the sports car market with the introduction of the Cyberster, an all-electric roadster available in two striking models: the performance-oriented Cyberster Trophy priced at £54,995 and the ultra-powerful flagship Cyberster GT at £59,995 (INR 62.51 lakh). Set to commence deliveries in the UK this August, these models herald a new era of open-top motoring.

The Cyberster Trophy, a rear-wheel-drive marvel, is equipped with a single motor producing 340PS and a peak torque of 350 lb ft, achieving 0-62 mph in just 5.0 seconds. It also boasts scissor doors designed by Carl Gotham’s team in London and a quick-operating electric fabric hood.

Stepping up the performance ladder, the Cyberster GT, MG’s most potent production model in its century-long history, features dual motors with a combined output of 503PS and 725Nm of torque. This all-wheel-drive powerhouse can dash from 0-62 mph in an astonishing 3.2 seconds.

Both models offer four drive modes—Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track—suiting everything from serene long-distance tours to high-octane track days. They come equipped with a luxurious cabin that includes 6-way electrically adjustable heated seats, a heated steering wheel with twin paddles for kinetic regeneration, and a wind deflector to enhance the convertible experience.

The 77kWh battery ensures impressive ranges of 316 miles for the Trophy and 276 miles for the GT under the WLTP cycle. Fast-charging capabilities allow a recharge from 10% to 80% in just 38 minutes.

David Allison, MG’s Head of Product and Planning, stated, “The Cyberster is designed to excite with its breathtaking design and exhilarating performance, marking a milestone as we propel grand touring into the electric age.”

Both models feature a host of safety and convenience technologies like MG Pilot, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and emergency braking systems.

The Cyberster models are not just about performance but also practicality with features like a 249-litre boot, a three-screen cockpit, and extensive connectivity options including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

With its blend of classic British roadster aesthetics and cutting-edge technology, the MG Cyberster sets a new standard for the electric vehicle sector, promising to be as much about the journey as the destination.
