Beemers, Art, and Electric Dreams: BMW Revs Up the India Art Fair with a Symphony of Creativity

In a fusion of horsepower and high art, BMW Group India has taken the driver’s seat as the presenting partner of the India Art Fair 2024, showcasing from February 1–4 at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in New Delhi. Celebrated as the pinnacle platform for modern and contemporary art in India and South Asia, this year’s fair promises to electrify with hundreds of artists set to spark the global spotlight.

Gurugram’s artistic gears are shifting with BMW Group India at the helm, heralding 15 years of the India Art Fair’s journey into the art world. Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, expressed the brand’s deep-rooted commitment to nurturing cultural dialogues and highlighted their role in amplifying the visibility of modern Indian art. This year, BMW shifts the narrative towards futuristic creativity with the unveiling of the first-ever fully electric BMW i7 sedan under the banner ‘The Future is Born of Art.’

The BMW i7 is not just a car; it’s a rolling canvas of all-electric luxury, sustainability, and visionary design, destined to leave an indelible mark on the art and automotive worlds. This initiative underscores BMW’s commitment to art, innovation, and sustainability, featuring the ‘Forwardism’ theme in its third commission.

Sashikanth Thavudoz, crowned winner of this year’s ‘The Future is Born of Art’ commission, presents ‘Symphony of Nature: The Harmonic Forest’, an installation that blends light and nature into a multisensory experience that echoes the fair’s forward-thinking ethos. This artistic endeavor is a call to embrace change responsibly, merging natural with manufactured materials in a delicate balance that looks towards the future.

Adding another layer to this cultural canvas, BMW will host the Art Talk ‘Through the Looking Glass’ on February 2, 2024, gathering contemporary art luminaries Anita Dube, Barthélémy Toguo, and Jitish Kallat for a deep dive into their creative odysseys, facilitated by Prof. Dr. Thomas Girst, BMW Group’s Global Head of Cultural Engagement.

With a lineup that blends electric innovation with artistic inspiration, the India Art Fair 2024, powered by BMW, is set to be an unprecedented celebration of art’s potential to drive forward into new realms of expression.
