Vintage 1986 BMW E30 Seeks New Love, Priced at a Cool INR 35 Lakhs!

Bengaluru, India – In a blend of classic charm and modern restoration, a fully-restored 1986 BMW 316i E30, a car that has captured the hearts of BMW enthusiasts worldwide, is now up for grabs in Bengaluru. With a price tag of INR 35 lakh, this white gem with a petrol heart and a manual soul has covered only 40,000 kms. Registered in Delhi, this two-owner marvel is not just a car, but a testament to automotive love.

This E30, considered one of the most beautiful BMW models ever, stands out in an era where wedge-shaped cars have become relics of the past. It’s an icon that has aged gracefully, retaining its allure over the decades.

For over 10 years, the current owner has nurtured this vehicle, pouring over 10 lakhs into its restoration, which was completed around 2017. The car’s journey has been meticulously documented on Instagram (@my.mean.e30), showcasing its transformation into a showroom condition classic.

The owner’s minimal use post-restoration – barely 1,000 km – ensures the E30 remains in pristine condition. However, with a new “baby” catching their eye, it’s time for this classic to find a new home.

The restoration list reads like a love letter to BMW craftsmanship, with imported parts from the USA, UK, Germany, and Poland. From the fully restored engine, barely run 1,000 km, to the extensive replacement of mechanical, electrical, and body parts – every detail has been attended to with precision and care.

Highlights of the restoration include original BBS alloys from Germany, an all-original M-Tech 1 body kit and 3-spoke steering wheel, and luxurious Stanley Leather seats and steering wheel grip.

The car’s illustrious history extends beyond its appearance. The BMW E30, designed by Claus Luthe and Boyke Boyer, was produced in Germany and South Africa. It played a pivotal role in BMW’s racing legacy, achieving tremendous success in the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) and the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), cementing BMW’s reputation for high-performance vehicles.

This model, a part of the second generation of the BMW 3 Series produced from 1982 to 1994, was a game-changer. It was the first in the series to be available in 4-door sedan and wagon/estate body styles, in addition to the traditional 2-door coupe and convertible options.

The sale includes a special package, potentially worth 6L, contingent on the final offer. The owner stresses the importance of understanding the car’s history and lineage for potential buyers and advises against uninformed offers. Price negotiations are welcome, but lowball offers will not be entertained.

This sale presents a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history, a car that’s not just a mode of transport but a symbol of elegance, power, and timeless design. The 1986 BMW E30 316i, with its rich history and meticulous restoration, is more than just a car – it’s a collector’s dream.
