Lexus Launches Limited Edition RZ 450e “F Sport Performance” Exclusively in Japan Through Lottery Sales

In a groundbreaking move, Lexus is set to launch a special-edition version of their dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV), the RZ 450e. This exclusive “F Sport Performance” edition will be available only in Japan, with a limited release of 100 units. Starting from January 12 to February 19, 2024, Lexus dealers across Japan will begin accepting lottery applications for this coveted model. The sales negotiations are slated to commence post February 22, after the selected winners are contacted.

The RZ 450e marks Lexus’ bold step into the future, being their first model dedicated solely to BEV technology. This launch not only underscores Lexus’ commitment to electrification but also signals a significant shift in the brand’s direction towards becoming a BEV brand. Since the introduction of the all-wheel-drive RZ 450e in March 2023, followed by the front-wheel-drive RZ 300e in November 2023, Lexus has been steadily broadening its BEV portfolio to cater to a diverse range of customer needs.

The “F SPORT Performance” edition of the RZ 450e is a testament to Lexus’ pursuit of driving pleasure and vehicle customization unique to BEVs. This special edition, which draws inspiration from the RZ Sport Concept showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2023, is a step towards achieving a carbon-neutral society. The development of this model saw collaboration with air racing pilot Yoshihide Muroya and racing driver Masahiro Sasaki, focusing on refining the aerodynamics and driving performance, and crafting a design deeply rooted in functionality.

The RZ 450e “F Sport Performance” is not just a car but an emblem of Lexus’ innovative spirit and dedication to sustainable mobility. It promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience, packaged in a sleek and environmentally conscious design. This limited edition model is not just a vehicle; it’s a statement by Lexus, showcasing their commitment to the future of automotive technology and their role in shaping a carbon-neutral society.
