Lucid Gravity electric SUV revealed, 708 km range, priced under INR 66.53 lakh

NEWARK, CA — On November 16, 2023, Lucid Group, Inc., a leader in luxury electric vehicles and winner of the 2023 World Luxury Car Award for its Lucid Air, introduced the Lucid Gravity, a luxury electric SUV. The Gravity SUV, which builds on the technology of the Lucid Air sedan, offers high performance, space for seven adults, and a projected driving range exceeding 440 miles (708 km). Its public debut is set for the Los Angeles Auto Show today, with production starting in late 2024.

Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO of Lucid, emphasized the Gravity SUV’s combination of space, luxury, versatility, and range. He noted that the vehicle utilizes Lucid’s proprietary EV powertrain technology and innovative engineering to surpass luxury sports sedan expectations.

Derek Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Design and Brand at Lucid, highlighted Gravity’s design, focusing on maximizing space, aerodynamics, and utility. The exterior design integrates efficiency with a sleek, sporty profile, while the interior boasts flexible cargo areas and spacious seating. The vehicle features a 34-inch curved OLED display and Lucid’s next-generation software with over-the-air updates.

The Gravity SUV’s performance is powered by a new platform with Lucid’s ultra-compact powertrain technology. It boasts an acceleration of 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, substantial payload, and towing capacities. The optional Zero Gravity air suspension package enhances off-road capabilities and ride comfort.

Eric Bach, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid, outlined the Gravity SUV’s efficient and environmentally friendly features, including a smaller and more sustainable battery pack. The vehicle can add 200 miles of range in approximately 15 minutes, showcasing one of the fastest EV charging systems globally.

The Gravity SUV also introduces Lucid Sanctuary and Lucid Spaces for a holistic in-car experience, focusing on wellbeing and eco-conscious luxury. It is expected to start under $80,000 (INR 66.53 lakh), with production commencing in late 2024.
