Modena Makes Moves: Maserati’s New Overseas Odyssey Begins with Elshantoury at the Helm

January 16, 2024, Modena – In a bold move that’s set the luxury automotive world abuzz, Maserati has revved up its global business engine by introducing a new geographic player: the Overseas Region. This strategic maneuver, effective January 1, is part of the Italian automaker’s plan to reconfigure its international market strategy in 2024.

At the steering wheel of this newly charted territory is Hamdy Elshantoury, appointed as the region’s inaugural head. Elshantoury, a seasoned navigator of the luxury car market, also retains ad interim responsibility for the Middle East and Africa.

This addition of the Overseas Region expands Maserati’s global compass to five distinct regions. This restructuring reflects Maserati’s commitment to tailor its approach to diverse markets, ensuring each receives the focus and resources necessary for growth and effective partnerships.

Joining Elshantoury in the driver’s seat of market expansion are Wong Yi Mui Wallace, taking charge of the SEAP & India markets, and Marco Spadaro, who will oversee East Europe and Latin America. This dynamic team is set to drive Maserati’s global outreach to new heights.

Based at Maserati’s headquarters in Modena, Italy, the leadership team of the Overseas Region is strategically positioned to stay in close alignment with central management. This proximity aims to enhance support for markets and streamline decision-making processes. Meanwhile, the market management team will remain within the region, maintaining a pulse on local market dynamics.

Davide Grasso, CEO of Maserati, expressed enthusiasm about the new global structure: “Launching the Overseas Region and appointing Hamdy Elshantoury as its leader marks a thrilling start to the year.
