Intangles Unveils AI-Powered Fleet Monitoring Range, Claims 75% Reduction in Powertrain Breakdowns

Pune: Predictive fleet intelligence company Intangles has introduced a new AIS-140-certified product portfolio in India, combining mandatory vehicle tracking compliance with predictive maintenance, fuel management, driver monitoring and AI-powered video telematics. The range comprises four configurations—InCert, InSight, InGenious and InVision+—designed to serve commercial vehicle operators ranging from small businesses to large logistics fleets.

The launch aims to bridge the gap between regulatory compliance and operational efficiency, allowing fleet operators to select monitoring capabilities according to their requirements rather than the number of vehicles they operate.

The solutions cover several commercial vehicle categories, including cabs, three-wheelers, small commercial vehicles, vans, light and intermediate commercial vehicles, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, and buses. Compatibility varies depending on the selected configuration.

Beyond GPS Tracking: Turning Vehicle Data Into Actionable Intelligence

India’s AIS-140 standard establishes requirements for vehicle tracking and emergency alert systems. However, the regulation does not mandate monitoring of engine parameters such as diagnostic fault codes, coolant temperature or fuel consumption.

Consequently, conventional compliance-focused tracking devices can tell operators where their vehicles are, but provide limited information about their mechanical condition or developing problems.

For fleet owners operating on tight schedules and tighter margins, knowing a truck’s location is useful. Knowing that its engine might be heading towards an expensive breakdown could be considerably more valuable.

Intangles is positioning its new portfolio around this distinction, integrating predictive analytics with vehicle tracking to help operators identify potential mechanical faults, monitor fuel usage and assess driver behaviour.

According to the company, its technology combines physics-based analytics and machine learning to interpret vehicle signals against operating conditions, enabling operators to identify emerging faults before they result in unexpected downtime.

Intangles claims its predictive intelligence technology achieves 96% predictive AI accuracy and has helped fleet operators reduce powertrain breakdowns by 75%. The company did not specify the testing methodology or fleet sample behind these figures in its announcement.

Four Configurations Designed for Different Fleet Requirements

The newly introduced portfolio offers progressively advanced capabilities, allowing customers to select a solution according to their operational priorities.

InCert serves as the entry-level configuration, providing AIS-140-certified vehicle tracking alongside trip management, geofencing and driver alerts. It is designed for operators primarily seeking regulatory compliance and essential fleet visibility.

InSight builds on these capabilities with driver behaviour reports, fuel consumption insights, diagnostic fault codes and repair guidance. The additional information is intended to help operators identify maintenance requirements and monitor vehicle efficiency.

InGenious introduces predictive vehicle health monitoring, advanced fuel management, DriveIQ driver scorecards and operations automation. This configuration targets fleet operators seeking more comprehensive control over maintenance planning, driver performance and operating costs.

InVision+ integrates AI-powered video telematics with the certified tracking device. Its dual-camera arrangement includes one camera facing the road and another monitoring the driver. Additional capabilities include in-cabin voice alerts, road warnings and on-demand video access.

All four configurations operate through InRoute, Intangles’ fleet intelligence platform, which brings vehicle monitoring and operational data together.

Intangles CEO Highlights Accessibility for Smaller Fleet Operators

Anup Patil, CEO of Intangles, said, “The size of a fleet should not determine whether an operator can access predictive intelligence. A vehicle off the road can significantly affect a business, whether it owns five vehicles or five hundred. With a certified device already installed and connected whenever the vehicle runs, operators should be able to choose the value it delivers to their business. Intangles’ new range brings this promise to life through #ChoiceOkPlease, giving operators the flexibility and freedom to choose a solution that meets compliance requirements and addresses their everyday operational challenges.”

The company’s approach reflects the different operational challenges faced by commercial transport businesses. While larger operators may maintain dedicated fleet management teams, smaller transport businesses often have fewer resources to monitor vehicle health, investigate fuel losses or anticipate mechanical failures.

Providing different levels of fleet intelligence could enable these businesses to adopt more advanced monitoring systems without necessarily investing in every available feature.

InCentral E-Commerce Platform Introduced for Online Purchases

Alongside the product portfolio, Intangles has launched InCentral, a direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform intended to simplify the purchasing and compliance process for commercial vehicle operators.

Through InCentral, customers can explore the available configurations, verify vehicle compatibility, purchase solutions online and generate Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) certificates.

The new portfolio is also available through the company’s existing field sales channels across India.

By combining product selection, purchasing and certification-related services on a single platform, Intangles aims to make fleet technology more accessible to operators who may not have dedicated technology procurement teams.

Predictive Maintenance Gains Relevance in India’s Commercial Transport Sector

For India’s commercial vehicle industry, unplanned downtime remains a significant operational concern. Mechanical failures can disrupt delivery schedules, increase repair expenses and affect passenger transport services, while inefficient driving and unmonitored fuel consumption can add to operating costs.

Predictive maintenance systems seek to address these issues by analysing vehicle data and identifying potential faults before they develop into major failures. Video telematics and driver monitoring can provide additional information to support safety management and incident assessment.

However, the practical benefits depend on factors including vehicle compatibility, the quality of available data and how effectively operators respond to system alerts.

With its AIS-140-certified portfolio, Intangles is seeking to move vehicle tracking beyond a regulatory obligation and towards a broader fleet management function.

As India’s logistics and passenger transport sectors increasingly adopt connected vehicle technologies, the distinction between simply tracking a vehicle and understanding its operational condition could become more important. For fleet operators, the real measure of success will not be the volume of information displayed on a dashboard, but whether that information helps keep vehicles safer, more efficient and on the road.
