GURUGRAM – In what can only be described as a mic-drop moment for Nissan Motor India, the company proudly announced that its compact SUV superstar, the Nissan Magnite, has officially crossed the 200,000 sales milestone. That’s right—two lakh Magnites are now roaming roads across the globe, from Kanpur to Kenya, Colombo to Kazakhstan.
Launched in 2020 as a bold gamble in the hotly contested B-SUV segment, the Magnite clearly didn’t come to play. With a price tag that doesn’t set off heart palpitations, a design sharp enough to slice through traffic, and features that make rivals sweat in their alloy wheels, the Magnite became an instant crowd-puller. And now, it’s officially a global rockstar—selling in over 65 countries across both left-hand and right-hand drive markets.
“The 200,000 global sales milestone is a proud moment for the entire Nissan Motor India family,” said Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director at NMIPL. “Our compact SUV continues to capture imaginations, conquer commutes, and even sneak into Instagram reels. We thank every customer who decided to take the Magnite home instead of just taking a selfie with it.”
In true eco-conscious flair, Nissan recently added more spice to the mix with a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit—because even compact SUVs like to breathe a little cleaner. Priced at ₹74,999 (for those who like to calculate cost-per-kilometre in real-time), this kit is available for the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol manual variant. The move caters to the ever-growing population of wallet-wise and planet-friendly drivers.
Not just a local legend, the Magnite’s international exploits are equally impressive. Exported to over 65 countries, it’s turning heads in foreign markets while still charming Indian hearts with over 28,000 domestic units sold annually. In FY2024-25 alone, Nissan India notched up a robust 99,000+ units in consolidated sales—its best performance in seven years—largely thanks to the Magnite’s magnetic pull.
So what’s next for this pocket-sized overachiever? More global adventures, perhaps a few more limited editions, and maybe even a starring role in the next Fast & Furious: Budget Edition.
But one thing’s clear—200,000 Magnites can’t be wrong. Nissan’s made-in-India marvel isn’t just riding the wave of success—it’s off-roading through it.
