Mahindra Tractors Plough Ahead: 20% Growth in April 2026 Despite Missing Festive Boost

Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has kicked off the new financial year on a strong note, selling 46,404 tractors in the domestic market in April 2026 — marking a healthy 20% year-on-year growth compared to 38,516 units in April 2025.

If tractors could smile, this batch probably would — because even without a festive push, demand stayed firmly in high gear.

The company’s total tractor sales (domestic + exports) stood at 48,411 units last month, up from 40,054 units in the same period last year. Export volumes reached 2,007 units, registering an impressive 30% growth, proving that Mahindra’s tractors are not just local heroes but increasingly global performers too.

Commenting on the performance, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., highlighted that the growth came despite a missing seasonal advantage. Last year’s April benefitted from the presence of Chaitra Navratri — an auspicious buying period — whereas this year’s calendar skipped that boost entirely.

In simpler terms, Mahindra managed to grow strongly even without the “festival accelerator,” which in the tractor world is no small feat.

The robust numbers indicate sustained rural demand, improved sentiment in the agriculture sector, and Mahindra’s continued dominance in the tractor market. With exports also gaining momentum, the company appears well-positioned to keep its growth engine — or rather, its torque-heavy tractor engine — running smoothly in the months ahead.
