Maruti Suzuki Senior Executive Partho Banerjee Pays Tribute to Charanjeet Nagpal

Gwalior: Maruti Suzuki Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee, attended the prayer meet of prominent automobile dealer and Prem Motors founder Charanjeet Nagpal in Gwalior on Thursday.

The prayer meet was held at Rang Mahal, where family members, business associates, dignitaries and members of the automobile industry gathered to pay their respects. Nagpal passed away on 29 June in Dubai after suffering a stroke.

Banerjee arrived from Delhi especially to attend the prayer meet and expressed condolences on behalf of the Maruti Suzuki team. Remembering Nagpal’s contribution to the company’s dealer network, he said Nagpal was a highly respected name among Maruti Suzuki dealership owners.

Charanjeet Nagpal was the main promoter of Prem Motors Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated on 28 November 1990 with its registered office at Kanwal Complex, A G Office Road, Gwalior. The business began when Nagpal acquired a Rajdoot Motorcycles dealership under the name “Prem Motors”.

Prem Motors began its journey with Maruti Suzuki in Gwalior in 2001 with the motto of customer satisfaction. Over the years, the company expanded into one of the leading Maruti Suzuki dealership groups in India and is now counted as the fifth-largest Maruti Suzuki dealership group in the country.

The group currently operates 58 showrooms, 43 workshops, seven True Value outlets, five commercial outlets and three Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools. It also has one showroom and one workshop of Tata Commercial in Bhopal and Indore.

Prem Motors has a presence across Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, offering sales, service, accessories, finance and insurance under one network.

In the financial year 2024–25, Prem Motors delivered 36,313 new vehicles and serviced 4,01,535 vehicles across six states, reflecting the scale of the organisation built under Nagpal’s leadership.

Nagpal’s passing marks the loss of a major figure in Gwalior’s business community and the Indian automobile dealership network. His legacy continues through Prem Motors, which grew from a local enterprise into a large multi-state automobile group.
