PepsiCo India Powers Up Green Logistics: EV Corridor, 400+ Electric Vehicles and CNG Fleet Drive Sustainable Shift

Because even your favourite cola now prefers low emissions with its fizz.

National/Kosi: PepsiCo India is stepping on the accelerator—quietly, of course—towards a greener future with the launch of its EV-powered “Green Corridor” on the Kosi–Pataudi route. And no, this isn’t just another corporate buzzword; it’s a full-fledged logistics makeover that might just make diesel trucks feel a little… outdated.

At the heart of this initiative is a dedicated electric freight corridor developed in partnership with Kalyani Powertrain Limited. The route will see eight 32-feet electric container trucks clocking nearly 4.8 lakh kilometres annually—without the usual cloud of exhaust trailing behind. Think of it as long-haul trucking, but with a cleaner conscience.

The Green Corridor was inaugurated in the presence of Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, alongside industry leaders including Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India & South Asia, and Pankaj Sonalkar of Kalyani Powertrain. Safe to say, this wasn’t your average ribbon-cutting—it came with a side of sustainability.

But PepsiCo didn’t stop at highways. The company has also electrified over 400 distributor vehicles across India, ensuring that the last mile of delivery is just as green as the first. Meanwhile, in the NCR, more than 80 CNG vehicles have joined the fleet—because sometimes, even the middle mile needs a cleaner upgrade.

Jagrut Kotecha highlighted that sustainability is no longer a “nice-to-have” but a “must-drive,” noting that PepsiCo’s approach combines technology, logistics, infrastructure, and partnerships to build a future-ready supply chain. In simpler terms: it’s not just about swapping engines; it’s about rethinking the entire journey.

Echoing this sentiment, Pankaj Sonalkar emphasized how electric mobility can seamlessly integrate into commercial logistics when backed by the right ecosystem. Logistics partners like Vayudoot Road Carriers and New Trishul Transport Services also reaffirmed their commitment to balancing efficiency with environmental responsibility—proving that even decades-old transport networks can learn new (and greener) tricks.

The Kosi–Pataudi corridor isn’t just a one-off experiment. It’s designed as a scalable model for electric linehaul freight, complete with charging infrastructure, route optimization, and customized vehicles. In other words, PepsiCo is not just testing the waters—it’s building the entire ecosystem.

All of this falls under PepsiCo India’s broader “PepsiCo Positive (pep+)” sustainability agenda, which aims to embed environmental responsibility into every sip, snack, and supply chain mile. And if this initiative is anything to go by, the future of logistics might just be a lot quieter—and a lot cleaner.

So the next time your chips and cola arrive on time, just remember: they may have travelled hundreds of kilometres… but left behind barely a trace.
