New Delhi: Kia India has decided that electric mobility in India shouldn’t just be about silent drives and saving the planet—it should also feel like travelling business class on wheels. Enter the updated MY26 Kia Carens Clavis EV, now with new GT-Line and X-Line trims, plus a plush new 6-seater configuration that might just make the second row the most fought-over seat in the family.
In a move that blends practicality with a dash of personality, the Carens Clavis EV now offers second-row captain seats in select trims, transforming everyday commutes into something closer to a chauffeur-driven experience. Of course, for those who believe “the more, the merrier,” the 7-seater option remains intact—because Indian families rarely travel light.
Visually, the EV has also hit the gym. The newly introduced GT-Line trims (GTX & GTX+) bring sporty flair with fresh alloy designs, lime brake calipers and metal pedals—subtle reminders that even family cars can have a wild side. Meanwhile, the X-Line variant takes the darker, more rugged route with an exclusive Dark Gun Metal finish, perfect for those who like their EVs with a hint of mystery (and Instagram appeal).

Underneath the stylish upgrades, the Carens Clavis EV continues to deliver substance. Buyers can choose between two battery packs—a 51.4 kWh unit offering up to 490 km range or a 42 kWh version delivering 404 km (ARAI-certified, MIDC Full). Charging from 10% to 80% takes just 39 minutes, which is roughly the time it takes to finish a roadside chai break… assuming you don’t order pakoras as well.
Inside, Kia hasn’t held back on tech either. The cabin features a massive dual panoramic display, over 85 connected car features, and a Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof that ensures even traffic jams feel a little more premium. Add to that features like Digital Key, battery heater tech, and advanced safety systems with six airbags and ESC, and you’ve got an EV that’s as smart as it is spacious.
Backing it all is Kia’s growing EV ecosystem. Through the MyKia app’s K-Charge platform, users get access to over 15,000 charging points nationwide, along with route planning and real-time charger availability—because range anxiety is so last decade.
Speaking on the update, Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing at Kia India, highlighted that evolving customer expectations are driving the shift towards more comfort, flexibility, and design differentiation in EVs. In simpler terms: Indians don’t just want electric—they want electric with attitude.
With seven colour options, multiple seating configurations, and a stronger focus on comfort and style, the Kia Carens Clavis EV MY26 is clearly aiming to be more than just a practical family mover. It wants to be the EV that makes you look forward to long drives—even if it’s just a quick trip to the grocery store.
