Mumbai’s car buyers now have a new excuse to visit the mall — and this time, it’s not for shopping bags but for SUVs with serious road presence. MODI, a unit of Arnav Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Mahindra showroom at Atria – The Millennium Mall, Worli, bringing a design-forward, hospitality-led retail experience to one of the city’s busiest auto catchments.
Developed in collaboration with Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer – Automotive & Farm Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra, the new showroom blends premium ambience with practical functionality — essentially making car buying feel less like paperwork and more like a well-hosted event.
Spread across 5,000 sq. ft. on Dr Annie Besant Road, the showroom focuses on immersive and personalised product engagement. The centrepiece is a hospitality-driven zone called “Aangan” — designed with lounges and private consultation spaces — where customers and families can explore vehicles in comfort, discuss variants, and debate colors like it’s a living-room decision (because it usually is).
A standout feature is the 360-degree vehicle viewing layout, allowing customers to experience Mahindra’s SUV lineup from every angle without performing the traditional showroom shuffle.
Gautam Modi, Managing Director, MODI (Arnav Automobiles Pvt. Ltd.), said the new facility reflects a deeper push toward premium, customer-first retail. He noted that alongside the showroom, the group has also opened a massive service backbone in the city to match the front-end experience with backend muscle.
Big Service Muscle at Sewri: 40,000 sq. ft. Workshop Goes Live
Complementing the Worli showroom is a newly inaugurated 40,000 sq. ft. workshop at Sewri, built to handle everything from routine service to major repairs — and increasingly, electric SUVs too.
The Sewri facility includes:
- 20 mechanical bays
- 10 bodyshop bays
- Dedicated electric SUV bays
- mSPA car-care infrastructure
The company says the goal is faster turnaround times and a more dependable ownership journey — because SUV adventures are fun, but workshop waiting rooms shouldn’t be long-term travel destinations.
Speaking on the design philosophy, Pratap Bose emphasized that retail spaces should feel intuitive and emotionally engaging, not transactional. The Worli outlet has therefore been crafted to feel calm, welcoming, and conversation-friendly — a place where customers discover vehicles rather than being “sold” one.
