New Delhi: Select Cars, the official Ferrari importer in New Delhi, turned the heat up on India’s supercar scene by hosting an ultra-exclusive private preview of the Ferrari 296 Speciale A, reserved for a select group of Indian Ferraristi who believe that “ordinary” is not part of the Ferrari dictionary.
The unveiling took place during the Ferrari Tour of Rajasthan, a five-day drive that blended royal palaces, desert highways and the unmistakable soundtrack of Italian V6 engines. Against this majestic backdrop, guests were introduced to Ferrari’s latest mid-rear-engined plug-in hybrid spider – a car that comfortably sits in the elite bloodline of the Scuderia Spider 16M, 458 Speciale A and 488 Pista Spider. In simple terms: this is Ferrari’s Avengers squad of open-top legends, and the 296 Speciale A is the newest superhero.

What makes the 296 Speciale A truly special (apart from the name itself) is the addition of a retractable hardtop to an already sensational package. It takes the razor-sharp agility and stability of the 296 GTS and adds the joy of open-air driving, creating what Ferrari calls the ultimate top-down experience – and what owners will probably call “the fastest way to smile without caffeine”.
Designed for Ferraristi who demand more than just speed, the 296 Speciale A promises a rare blend of extreme performance with predictability and intuitive handling. It’s not just about going fast; it’s about feeling like a hero while doing it, even if you’re only driving to your favourite coffee spot.
The special preview also marked Select Cars’ 10-year anniversary celebrations, bringing together a passionate community of Prancing Horse owners for a royal road trip through Rajasthan’s iconic landscapes. Adding further sparkle to the tour were the Ferrari 12Cilindri and the 296 GTB, both available for test drives – because one Ferrari is never enough when three are possible.
With its Indian launch expected soon, the Ferrari 296 Speciale A has already made a dramatic entry into the country. And if this preview is anything to go by, India’s Ferraristi are ready to embrace yet another reason to fall in love with open roads, open skies, and very open cheque books.
