Accelerates Nationwide EV Infrastructure Push
Gurugram – Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), clearly proving that electricity isn’t just for your ceiling fan anymore, has announced that its growing EV charging network has already dispensed a whopping 2.3 million units of clean energy through more than 1,80,000 charging sessions. That’s enough juice to run your AC during a Delhi summer for about, well… forever.
The payoff? Over 1.6 million kilograms of CO₂ emissions prevented. Somewhere, a polar bear just smiled.
Powering Ahead, Quite Literally
As of August 2025, HMIL has installed 119 fast charging stations, out of its ambitious target of 600 across India. Think of it as Hyundai leaving electric breadcrumbs across highways, cities, and dealerships—except Hansel and Gretel won’t get range anxiety.
With uptime north of 97%, strategically placed chargers near coffee shops, restaurants, and malls, and even marshals to help during peak hours, Hyundai has basically turned charging into a pit-stop experience. Customers can plug in their EVs, grab a cappuccino, and brag about saving the planet on Instagram—all in one go.
Tech Meets Travel
- App-solutely Sorted: The myHyundai app gives access to 20,000+ charging points across HMIL and partner networks. It’s like Tinder, but instead of matches, you get kilowatts.
- Hyundai In-Car Payment: The first-of-its-kind Hyundai Pay lets you pay for charging directly from your car’s infotainment screen. Because who has time to pull out a wallet when you’re already saving the world?
- Home is Where the Charger Is: Customers also get the option of home charging solutions (7.4 kW or 11 kW), ensuring the car is always more ready for Monday than you are.
A Green Focus
In Tamil Nadu, Hyundai has pledged 100 fast charging stations, with 16 already operational and 30 set to light up by year-end. Clearly, Chennai is set to become the unofficial EV pit-stop capital of India.
The Official Word
Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning, HMIL, said,
“At Hyundai Motor India, we are strongly positioned to lead EV adoption across the country. We’re not only offering advanced EVs like the IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric, but also building the robust ecosystem needed to keep customers charged, happy, and less anxious than ever.”
Hyundai isn’t just installing chargers—it’s installing confidence. With every new fast charger, the company is effectively saying: “Don’t worry, your EV will make it past the dhaba.”
So, the next time you see a Hyundai EV glide silently down the highway, remember: somewhere behind that hum is a whole network of chargers working harder than your Wi-Fi during IPL season.
