New Delhi: Kia India just dropped the mic on automotive safety—with a crash test, no less. The all-new Kia Syros, the brand’s latest SUV on a mission to conquer highways and hard barriers, has bagged a stellar 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). And no, it didn’t just pass—it graduated with honors.
Racking up an Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) score of 30.21 out of 32 and a Child Occupant Protection (COP) score of 44.42 out of 49, the Syros didn’t flinch when thrown at simulated walls, sideswipes, and poles. It looked danger square in the crumple zone and said, “Is that all you’ve got?”

Armed with 16 autonomous safety technologies and 20 standard active and passive features, the Syros is practically a robotic bodyguard on wheels. From ADAS Level 2 wizardry to crash test victories at speeds that would make a scooter blush (63.95 km/h frontal, 50.17 km/h side, and 29.17 km/h pole impacts), this SUV isn’t just safe—it’s a bunker with Bluetooth.
And it’s not just hardware. The Connected Car tech with OTA updates means the Syros doesn’t just evolve—it upgrades itself while you sip your chai. Because why should only smartphones get smarter?
Gwanggu Lee, MD & CEO of Kia India, beamed with pride (and probably a reinforced seatbelt), saying:
“Safety is not just a feature—it’s our philosophy. With the 5-star rating, we’re proving that luxury, technology, and safety can (and should) ride in the same carpool. The Syros represents our vision of making global innovations available for the Indian road, potholes and all.”
With the EV9, Carnival Limousine, and now Syros leading the charge, Kia India seems determined to make its cars safer than your Google password. Add to that six airbags as standard, ESC, VSM, and the driving assistance alphabet soup, and you’ve got yourself a family fortress.
So, if your SUV dreams include cutting-edge design and the ability to walk away from a theoretical crash with dignity intact, the Kia Syros just might be your knight in five-star armor.
