Mercedes-Benz India Backs Indian Padel Tour as Title Partner for 19-Tournament Season

New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India has been named the title partner of the Indian Padel Tour for the 2026–27 season, supporting a 19-tournament calendar that will be staged across 10 major Indian cities.

The season will begin in Mumbai in August 2026 and conclude in Bengaluru in June 2027, according to PadelPark India, the company behind the tour and a provider of padel infrastructure, tournaments and related services.

The partnership comes as padel, a racket sport usually played in doubles on an enclosed court, attracts growing participation and investment in India. The Indian Padel Tour, or IPT, is seeking to build a structured competitive pathway through Grand Slams, City Opens and special intellectual property-led events.

The tour provides playing opportunities for both emerging and established competitors while contributing to the development of a national ranking ecosystem. In a country already well supplied with cricketing conversations, padel is attempting to secure a little more room on the sporting calendar.

Jigar Doshi, Co-Founder, PadelPark India, said, “The Indian Padel Tour was created with a simple ambition: to build the competitive ecosystem that every great sport needs. While participation introduces people to padel, competition inspires them to improve, dream bigger and stay engaged with the sport for years to come. We are proud to welcome Mercedes-Benz India as the Title Partner of IPT. This partnership is not just about supporting tournaments; it is a shared commitment to building the future of padel in India and establishing the country as one of the world’s most exciting emerging markets for the sport.”

Pratik Doshi, Co-Founder, PadelPark India, added, “The Indian Padel Tour was established to create a structured competitive platform that supports the long-term growth and professionalisation of padel in India. Partnering with a globally respected brand like Mercedes-Benz India is a defining milestone for the tour, reinforcing the sport’s growing stature and potential in the country. Together, we look forward to delivering a world-class season that elevates the player experience, engages a wider audience, and contributes meaningfully to the continued development of India’s padel ecosystem.”

The announcement was made alongside the launch of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+, described by the automaker as Mercedes-Benz India’s first electrified AMG E-Class model.

Mercedes-Benz India said the multi-year title partnership would extend its association with performance and innovation beyond the automotive sector and into a rapidly developing sporting category.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “For us, performance extends beyond the car and into the experiences we build with our customers and communities, whether that’s on a racetrack or, as we’ve seen recently, on a padel court through our partnership with the Indian Padel Tour. The AMG E 53 Hybrid reflects that same commitment to precision engineering, paired with a highly personalised ownership experience for Indian customers.”

For PadelPark India, the agreement represents an opportunity to strengthen tournament organisation, player development and audience engagement as the sport expands into more cities.

The 2026–27 season will also serve as a test of whether rising recreational interest can be converted into a sustainable professional ecosystem. With a national calendar, corporate backing and a growing player base now taking shape, Indian padel appears ready to move from a promising newcomer to a more permanent fixture in the country’s sporting landscape.
