Maruti Suzuki Clocks Record FY26 Sales, Exports Hit Top Gear as India’s Auto Giant Refuses to Hit the Brakes

New Delhi: If there was ever a report card for consistency in India’s auto industry, Maruti Suzuki just topped it—again. The country’s largest carmaker has not only crossed the 2 million annual sales milestone for the third consecutive year, but has also rewritten its own record books across domestic and export markets in FY 2025-26.

In March 2026, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 225,251 units, up from 192,984 units in March 2025. This includes 169,428 units in domestic sales, 8,783 units to other OEMs, and 47,040 units exported—a clear sign that the brand’s engines are firing on all cylinders.

Small Cars, Big Numbers

The bread-and-butter Mini + Compact segment (Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Swift, WagonR and friends) remained the company’s strongest pillar.

  • March 2026 sales stood at 83,530 units, up from 78,561 units last year.
  • For the full fiscal, the segment contributed a massive 920,393 units.

While the Mini segment saw a slight dip annually (112,291 units vs 125,770 last year), the Compact segment surged to 808,102 units, proving that Indian buyers still love a practical hatchback that doesn’t ask too many questions.

SUVs Continue Their Winning Streak

The real growth story, however, continues to wear SUV boots.

  • Maruti’s Utility Vehicles (Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny, XL6 and more) clocked 71,356 units in March 2026, up significantly from 61,097 units last year.
  • Annual UV sales hit 760,987 units, reflecting India’s ongoing SUV obsession—clearly, ground clearance is now a lifestyle choice.

Vans & Workhorses Keep Rolling

  • The humble Eeco van posted 11,333 units in March and 139,769 units annually, continuing its silent dominance in the people-and-cargo carrier segment.
  • The Super Carry LCV also saw steady growth with 38,575 units sold in FY26, reinforcing Maruti’s presence beyond passenger vehicles.

Domestic Market Hits All-Time High

Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest-ever domestic sales of 1,861,704 units in FY26.

  • Total passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,823,129 units, while
  • Including LCVs, domestic sales reached 1,861,704 units.

Add OEM sales, and total domestic numbers climbed to 1,974,939 units—because apparently, even other manufacturers need a little Maruti in their lives.

Exports: India to the World

Exports were another headline act this year.

  • March exports jumped to 47,040 units, compared to 32,968 units last year.
  • Annual exports hit a record 447,774 units, showcasing Maruti Suzuki’s growing global footprint.

The Big Picture

For FY 2025-26, Maruti Suzuki achieved:

  • Total Sales: 2,422,713 units (highest ever)
  • Domestic Sales: 1,861,704 units (highest ever)
  • Exports: 447,774 units (highest ever)

In simple terms, whether it’s a first-time buyer picking up an Alto or a family upgrading to a Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki seems to have a car—and a sales record—for everyone.

At this pace, Maruti Suzuki isn’t just driving India’s auto market—it’s practically carpooling the entire industry. And if FY26 is anything to go by, FY27 might just need a bigger scoreboard.
