Battery Swap Tech to Drive Efficiency in Last-Mile Delivery Services

Bangalore, India: In a game-changing partnership, Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt Ltd (Honda e:Swap), a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Japan, has joined forces with Indian mobility pioneer Bhago Mobility to launch a cutting-edge Green Fleet Management Service, aimed at transforming the electric vehicle (EV) segment for last-mile delivery. The partnership promises to enhance the reliability, sustainability, and efficiency of fleet operations by leveraging Honda’s state-of-the-art battery swap technology.

Under this collaboration, Bhago Mobility’s electric cargo vehicles, powered by Honda e:Swap’s advanced battery swap solutions, will ensure that EV fleets experience minimal downtime. Discharged batteries will be rapidly swapped with fully charged units, offering a hassle-free and sustainable alternative to traditional charging. With an initial deployment of these vehicles in Bangalore and Delhi, the partnership is set to target e-commerce fleets and passenger mobility services, establishing a new benchmark for green urban transportation.

Honda e:Swap’s technology offers quick battery replacements within minutes, maximizing vehicle uptime and ensuring seamless operations. To facilitate this, Bhago Mobility will station swappable battery-powered vehicles across strategically located hubs within a 10km radius of metro stations, providing 24/7 access to reliable and eco-friendly fleet services.

Sustainable Future in Motion

On World EV Day, Takuya Taniguchi, President and CMD of Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt Ltd, shared his excitement: “This partnership with Bhago Mobility marks a significant milestone in our journey towards a greener urban mobility ecosystem. We are confident that our innovative battery swap technology will enhance the efficiency of last-mile delivery solutions while contributing to the broader vision of sustainable transportation in India.”

Aditya Goyal, founder of Bhago Mobility, echoed this vision: “Our collaboration with Honda e:Swap is a testament to our shared commitment to revolutionizing fleet management. Ambitious Expansion Plans and Green Hubs

The partnership will launch 100 Honda e:Swap-powered vehicles in the coming months, with an ambitious target to scale up to 10,000 vehicles by 2028. Bhago Mobility’s long-term vision includes the creation of solar-powered hubs that will fuel their operations, ensuring a 360-degree green approach from charging to mobility solutions.
