Toyota India Expands T-TEP Skill Training Program to CSMSS College of Polytechnic in Maharashtra

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in partnership with Sharayu Toyota, has inaugurated the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at CSMSS College of Polytechnic, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The initiative aims to strengthen technical education and support India’s larger ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’ missions.

The newly established training facility was inaugurated in the presence of senior representatives from CSMSS Sanstha, CSMSS College of Polytechnic, Sharayu Toyota and Toyota Kirloskar Motor. The program is designed to offer hands-on training and real-world exposure to students pursuing technical trades, especially those from rural and economically challenged backgrounds.

At a time when cars are getting smarter than many household gadgets, Toyota’s T-TEP aims to ensure that young technicians are not left guessing between a sensor, a simulator and a stubborn spanner.

The T-TEP curriculum combines classroom learning with dealership-based internships, giving students practical exposure to the automotive industry. At CSMSS College of Polytechnic, the program will focus on Service Advisor and Sales Consultant streams, benefiting students from the Mechanical Engineering trade as well as those from nearby rural regions.

The training facility has an annual intake capacity of 480 students across six technical trades. It is equipped with modern training infrastructure including engine models, component cut-sections, simulators and tools aligned with Toyota’s hybrid and service technologies. The facility also includes Toyota’s Body & Mind Training and Culture Development material.

Speaking on the initiative, Shashikant Dikle, Principal, CSMSS College of Polytechnic, said, “In today’s evolving technology landscape, industry exposure is mandatory. With access to industry-aligned training, updated learning resources and practical exposure through the T-TEP initiative, our students will be equipped to understand real-world applications and build successful careers.”

Naseer Maner, Director, Sharayu Toyota, said, “The T-TEP facility is not just a training centre—it’s a launchpad for young minds aspiring to build careers in the automotive sector. By pairing global learning tools with local opportunities, we hope to equip students with the capabilities they need to succeed.”

Commenting on the program, Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Governance, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “Through initiatives like T-TEP, we aim to deliver high-quality, hands-on training that empowers students with confidence, skill and purpose while equipping them to be future-ready. This new facility at CSMSS College of Polytechnic, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar reflects our vision of enabling inclusive growth and strengthening India’s skill ecosystem from the ground up.”

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been actively involved in skill development through programs such as the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) and T-TEP. Since its launch in 2006, T-TEP has trained more than 14,000 students across India, with over 70% of graduates securing employment with automobile manufacturers and authorised dealerships.

With the latest facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Toyota and Sharayu Toyota are looking to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. For students, it means a clearer route from the classroom to the workshop floor—and possibly, to a long-term career in India’s fast-evolving automotive sector.
