Škoda Auto India Revives the Superb Sedan in Response to Customer Demand, launched at INR 54 lakh

Mumbai, April 03, 2024 – Škoda Auto India announced today that it will reintroduce its flagship sedan, the Superb, to the Indian market due to increasing consumer demand. This luxury vehicle will make a comeback in an exclusive batch of 100 cars, each priced at INR 54 lakh, available only in the high-end Laurin & Klement trim.

The decision to bring back the Superb, albeit as Fully Built Units (FBU) with enhanced features and luxurious amenities, follows the company’s recent announcement of an all-new compact SUV. The Superb, known for its design and performance, is equipped with a 2.0 TSI engine that complies with EU6 emission norms, aligning with BS6-2 standards. It boasts 140kW (190ps) of power and 320Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG transmission.

Petr Janeba, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, highlighted the Superb’s success in India, noting its role in establishing Škoda’s design language since its launch in 2015. With over 57,000 units sold across three generations, the Superb has been a segment leader, appreciated for its quality, luxury, and value. Janeba expressed enthusiasm for enriching the brand’s premium offerings with the Superb’s return.

The Superb features leading luxury and space in its class, a new 26cm Virtual Cockpit, and a 23.36cm Columbus system with cutting-edge connectivity. Comfort is paramount, with 12-way adjustable electric front seats, multifunction leather steering wheel, Tri-zone Climate Control, and a unique Dynamic Chassis Control for customizable suspension settings. Safety is also a top priority, with Full LED headlights, 9 airbags, and a suite of assistance systems ensuring a secure driving experience.

Škoda Auto India’s reintroduction of the Superb, especially with its exclusive Laurin & Klement trim in new colors and equipped with stylish Propus Aero alloys, reflects the company’s commitment to meeting customer demands for premium vehicles. Despite criticisms about offering the third generation Superb to clear stocks while the fourth generation is available globally, Škoda’s initiative underlines its strategy to cater to the Indian market’s preferences. With customer deliveries slated to begin later this month, the Superb is poised to reinforce Škoda Auto India’s legacy of providing luxurious, safe, and high-performing vehicles to its clientele.
