Nissan Smyrna Soars to Stellar Milestone: 15 Million Vehicles Strong

SMYRNA, Tenn. – In a landmark achievement that marks a new chapter in automotive excellence, Nissan’s Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant has proudly announced the production of its 15 millionth vehicle. This historic vehicle, a 2024 Pathfinder gleaming in Deep Ocean Blue Metallic, symbolizes more than just a number; it represents decades of innovation, teamwork, and unwavering community support.

Brian Crockett, Vice President of Manufacturing at the Smyrna facility, couldn’t hide his enthusiasm. “The journey to 15 million vehicles has been nothing short of extraordinary,” Crockett shared. “Witnessing this Pathfinder, a model that encapsulates our shared history and future aspirations, emerge from the assembly line was a pinnacle moment for us. It underscores the spirit of collaboration that has propelled us forward.”

This milestone is not just a testament to the Smyrna plant’s operational prowess but also to the Pathfinder’s storied legacy within Nissan’s portfolio. Since starting its U.S. assembly in Smyrna back in 2005, over one million Pathfinders have rolled off the production line, with the 2024 model recently securing the prestigious 2024 Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The Smyrna plant has a rich history as Tennessee’s inaugural auto assembly facility, now producing key models like the Nissan Leaf, Murano, Rogue, and the Infiniti QX60, alongside the celebrated Pathfinder. Nissan’s commitment is evident in its $7.1 billion investment in the Smyrna plant, which stands as a beacon of manufacturing excellence with over 5,700 employees and the capacity to produce 640,000 vehicles annually.

As Nissan Smyrna continues to drive forward, setting benchmarks and embracing the future of mobility, this 15 millionth vehicle milestone is a vibrant testament to the enduring legacy and innovative spirit of Nissan and its dedicated team in Tennessee.
