In an ambitious move propelling India towards a greener future, French automotive giant Citroën has teamed up with BluSmart Mobility, India’s premier fully-electric ride-hailing service, announcing the rollout of 4000 cutting-edge Citroën ë-C3 electric vehicles (EVs) over the next year. This collaboration underscores a significant commitment to sustainable electric mobility, aligning with the growing demand for environmentally friendly transport solutions.

The partnership kicked off on the 18th of March 2024, with the first batch of 125 Citroën ë-C3 EVs making their debut from BluSmart’s expansive EV charging superhub in Bengaluru, marking a new era in urban transportation. These vehicles are set to join BluSmart’s impressive fleet of over 7,000 EVs, enhancing the brand’s capacity to meet the rising consumer preference for clean, safe, and reliable mobility solutions.

The Citroën ë-C3, a sleek all-electric compact SUV, boasts a remarkable range of 320 kilometers on a single charge, according to ARAI standards, and is equipped with advanced fast charging technology that allows for near-complete charging in just under an hour. Designed with Citroën’s Advanced Comfort Program, the ë-C3 promises an exceptional travel experience, featuring a spacious interior and a generous 315-litre boot space, ideally suited for airport transfers and urban journeys alike.

Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroën India, emphasized the shared vision of both companies to foster a sustainable future through electric mobility. The ë-C3, with its combination of design, range, fast charging, and advanced technology, offers a compelling choice for both passengers and fleet operators, aligning with the mission to decarbonize urban environments.

Anmol Jaggi, Co-founder & CEO of BluSmart, highlighted the partnership’s goal to decarbonize mobility on a large scale. With the largest all-electric ride-hailing service and an expansive network of EV charging superhubs, BluSmart is at the forefront of creating a sustainable EV mobility ecosystem in India. The introduction of the Citroën ë-C3 into BluSmart’s fleet is a strategic step towards catering to the growing demand for clean ride-hailing services in India’s megacities.

This partnership also unveils Assure by BluSmart, an innovative initiative inviting retail and institutional investors to finance the shift towards electric mobility, showcasing a model that supports the rapid adoption and scaling of EVs in the ride-hailing landscape.

BluSmart’s integrated approach to energy, infrastructure, and mobility, coupled with its proprietary technology stack, is revolutionizing the electric vehicle space in India. Having completed over 12.5 million all-electric trips and saving 30 million kgs of CO2, BluSmart is not just advancing towards zero emissions but is also pioneering the transition to a 100% emission-free mobility service, exemplifying its unwavering commitment to ‘Decarbonise Mobility at Scale’.
