Tata Motors’ Sanand Symphony: A Million Cars Play Their Tune in Gujarat

Sanand, March 08, 2024 – In a remarkable feat that sounds almost like music to the ears, Tata Motors, the titan of Indian automaking, has proudly driven its 1 millionth car off the assembly line at its ultra-modern Sanand facility in Gujarat. This landmark achievement is not just a number; it’s a testament to Tata Motors’ relentless pursuit of innovation, excellence, and customer satisfaction. The Sanand facility’s crew, a blend of dedication and hard work, played a pivotal role in turning this dream into reality, proving that teamwork indeed makes the dream work.

Sprawled over a whopping 1100 acres and home to over 6000 direct and indirect employees, the Sanand plant is a beacon of modernity and efficiency. Established in 2010, this youthful powerhouse of manufacturing has been at the forefront of Tata Motors’ success story, equipped with the latest technology and a highly mechanised infrastructure. From the press line to the assembly line, the plant is a marvel of lean process management, capable of producing a symphony of models including the likes of Tiago, Tigor, and the electrifying Xpres-T EV, showcasing an exceptional 100% asset management and utilization.

Shailesh Chandra, the maestro behind Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, shared his exuberance on this momentous occasion, “Rolling out the 1 millionth car from Sanand is a proud moment for all of us at Tata Motors. This plant has been instrumental in our growth saga, allowing us to swiftly meet market demands. This milestone underscores our commitment to quality and our dedication to our customers. Thanks to our incredible team, supportive suppliers, channel partners, and the Government of Gujarat, we look forward to continuing our journey of providing safer, smarter, and greener mobility solutions.”

But Tata Motors’ harmony extends beyond the manufacturing line. The Sanand plant has orchestrated a symphony of social upliftment initiatives in over 68 villages around Sanand, Bavla, and Viramgam, touching the lives of over 3 lakh individuals. From building toilets to empowering women with skills and focusing on the health and education of the girl child, Tata Motors is setting a high score in corporate social responsibility.

As Tata Motors tunes up for the future, its Sanand plant’s millionth car roll-out hits all the right notes, promising a future that’s not only driven by innovation but is also harmonious with society and the environment.
