Hilux Hijinks: Toyota’s Trailblazing Truck Turbocharges Bengaluru’s Supercross Finale

Bengaluru, 27 February 2024: In a display of high-octane spectacle, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) revved up the excitement at the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) as the official vehicle partner, with their rugged Hilux stealing the show in Bengaluru’s dirt bike showdown. The ISRL, a groundbreaking franchise-based supercross league in India, wrapped up its thrilling final round at the Open Ground (Airport Road), Chikkajala, on February 25th, with over 7000 fans in attendance, signifying the growing craze for off-roading in the nation.

Toyota, with a legacy in international motorsports stretching over six decades, strengthened its footprint in India’s racing scene through this partnership. The Hilux, celebrated for its off-roading prowess, was the star at three key event locations. It made a grand entry at the opening ceremony, loaded with dirt bikes, flaunting its dynamic 4X4 capabilities on the supercross tracks, much to the delight of the audience.

The event featured a specially constructed dirt track with steep jumps and challenging trails, where top riders from India and around the world showcased their skills. Toyota Hilux, equipped with its formidable 4×4 drive, not only dazzled the crowd with its performances but also efficiently served the needs of teams and officials throughout the event.

The CEAT Indian Superbike Racing League (ISRL) saw six teams, each with 8 riders, battle it out over a series of 10 laps. The event boasted a lineup of customized bikes from renowned brands and drew a significant crowd, including off-roading enthusiasts and Hilux customers. Team Bigrock Motorsports emerged victorious, underscoring the league’s international appeal and India’s emerging prominence in the supercross landscape.

Sabari Manohar, Vice President of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing Toyota’s commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences in motorsports. He highlighted the Hilux’s dual role as an exceptional lifestyle utility vehicle and its suitability for various applications.

Veer Patel, Director & Co-Founder of the Indian Supercross Racing League, praised the Hilux’s contribution, noting that its impressive performance has set new standards in Indian supercross racing. He looks forward to continuing this exhilarating partnership, promising more thrilling races ahead.

Last year, Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the ‘Great 4X4 Expedition,’ offering unique off-roading experiences across various regions in India. This initiative, along with the partnership with ISRL, marks TKM’s growing commitment to motorsport and its dedication to engaging racing enthusiasts nationwide.
