SAVANNAH, Ga., February 20, 2024 — In a spectacular display of speed and style, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.’s latest marvel, the Gulfstream G700, has shattered over 50 city-pair speed records, zooming its way into the Singapore Airshow with unmatched flair.
This record-smashing spree included a landmark carbon-neutral flight from Los Angeles to Nice, France, where the G700 cruised 5,197 nautical miles (9,625 kilometers) in a brisk 10 hours and 13 minutes, maintaining a swift average speed of Mach 0.90. Not resting on its laurels, the G700 then clinched its 51st speed record with another eco-friendly flight from Nice to Singapore, covering 5,754 nm (10,656 km) in just 11 hours and 30 minutes, again at Mach 0.90.
These recent rapid runs follow a December 2023 feat where the G700, an ultralarge-cabin aircraft, raced from Tokyo to Savannah in 10 hours and 53 minutes over a distance of 6,365 nm (11,788 km), averaging Mach 0.91.
Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, expressed pride in the G700’s achievements, “These latest records not only showcase the G700’s blistering pace but also reinforce our commitment to delivering top-notch speed and efficiency to our customers. As we gear up for the Singapore Airshow, we’re thrilled to demonstrate our business growth in Asia-Pacific and our industry-leading innovations in performance and luxury.”
The G700 boasts the largest cabin in business aviation and exceeds its initial performance expectations with a maximum range of 7,750 nm (14,353 km) at Mach 0.85 and 6,650 nm (12,316 km) at Mach 0.90. It also holds the title of the fastest aircraft in the Gulfstream fleet with a top operating speed of Mach 0.935 (1154 kmph).
The ultralong-range G700, alongside the acclaimed G600, is set to make a grand entrance at the Singapore Airshow, running from February 20-25, showcasing Gulfstream’s dominance in high-speed, luxurious air travel.
