Mumbai:
In what can only be described as a tractor-powered triumph, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has shifted into high gear this May, clocking in domestic tractor sales of 38,914 units, marking a 10% growth compared to May 2024. When you include exports, the total rises to a plough-tastic 40,643 units—clearly, India’s farmers aren’t just ready to sow, they’re doing it in style.
Exports also chipped in with 1,729 units, proving that Mahindra’s agricultural horsepower continues to till international soil as well.
Commenting on the robust performance, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, said, “Early arrival of a generous monsoon, promising kharif prospects, and the government’s approval of higher MSPs have collectively lifted farmer confidence—and evidently, tractor demand too.”
Nakra also credited solid pre-monsoon land preparation, a surge in paddy sowing activity, and buoyant reservoir levels for steering demand. With record foodgrain production targets and new schemes in the pipeline, Mahindra’s tractors might soon need mirrors—not just to check rear views, but to admire just how far they’ve come.
In short: While the skies may bring rain, Mahindra brings the horsepower—ensuring India’s farmers remain firmly in the driver’s seat of rural growth.
Because when it rains MSP hikes and government schemes, Mahindra brings the thunder… on four wheels.
