Soaring High with Metal: Mahindra Aerostructures and Airbus Take Their Relationship to New Altitudes!

Bengaluru, January 17, 2024 – Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt Ltd (MASPL) and Airbus Aerostructures GmbH have taken their partnership to soaring new heights. The two companies have inked a deal for MASPL to manufacture and supply an impressive array of approximately 5000 different metallic components for Airbus’ full range of commercial aircraft, including the crowd-favorite A320 family. This agreement marks a significant expansion from MASPL’s existing commitments, which involve direct deliveries to Airbus facilities in Toulouse, France.

Vinod Sahay, the Aerospace & Defence & CPO, Auto & Farm Sectors President at Mahindra, expressed his pride in the company’s burgeoning relationship with Airbus. “This new contract doesn’t just strengthen our ties with Airbus; it’s a powerful testament to the Mahindra Group’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” he stated. Sahay anticipates a future of collaborative growth and meeting the high standards set by this contract.

Arvind Mehra, MASPL’s Managing Director & CEO, echoed this sentiment. “Being an Airbus supplier is an honor for MASPL, and we’re grateful for their ongoing support,” he said. Mehra sees the contract as a pivotal expansion of their Airbus portfolio, opening doors to further collaboration in areas like performance, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Since 2015, MASPL has been a direct supplier to the Airbus Group, actively participating in numerous initiatives. The company’s prowess in the Sheet Metal domain is evident from its three-year streak as a D2P “Challenger.” Additionally, MASPL has achieved an ‘A’ level rating in the Airbus Industrial Process Capability Assessment (IPCA+) and was recently awarded the “Best Performer” title in the 2023 Airbus Supplier Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) awards.
