In a move that blends education with engine oil, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has turbocharged the academic world by inking a Memorandum of Understanding with IES University, Bhopal. This collaboration is set to steer aspiring students into the fast lane with an innovative three-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course in Retail Management, commencing in the academic year 2023-24.
Dubbed as a pit stop for practical learning, the program shifts gears with one year of classroom training, followed by two years of hands-on experience in the driver’s seat at Maruti Suzuki dealerships. This unique blend of theory and On-the-Job Training (OJT) is designed to rev up students’ skills, aligning them with the vrooming needs of the Indian automobile industry. The curriculum, a joint venture between Maruti Suzuki and IES University, is finely tuned to meet the prescribed UGC guidelines.
The two-year OJT stretch at Maruti Suzuki dealerships in Bhopal is not just about getting a grip on the steering wheel; it’s an opportunity for students to accelerate their skills in a real-world setting. Embracing the ‘Earn While You Learn’ model, students will receive a stipend, ensuring they don’t run on empty while learning the ropes. The program also offers a roadmap to employment, providing placement support to those who qualify.
