Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has supplied and installed diagnostic, surgical, maternal-care and emergency medical equipment at the Community Health Centre in Bidkin, a move expected to improve healthcare access for more than 70,000 people in Maharashtra’s Paithan Block.
The initiative, undertaken as part of the automaker’s corporate social responsibility programme focused on health and hygiene, is intended to strengthen the centre’s ability to provide primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, emergency treatment and surgical care.
Paithan Block has a population of approximately 3.8 lakh people and depends on a network of government-run healthcare facilities. According to the company, demand for maternal care, emergency response and primary treatment has been increasing across the region.
The equipment supplied to CHC Bidkin includes a dental X-ray system with RVG, a haematology instrument, surgical instrument sets, an MTP set, hysterectomy and tubal ligation sets, an obstetric labour table, a shadowless lamp and a diathermy machine.
The facility has also received a defibrillator, suction machine, multipara monitor, wheelchair, stretcher trolley, battery-operated otoscope and hydraulic operation theatre table.
The list is extensive, but the objective is fairly straightforward: help doctors diagnose patients sooner, conduct procedures more effectively and respond more quickly during medical emergencies.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor said the equipment was selected to improve diagnostic services, maternal and surgical care, emergency preparedness and the overall quality of treatment available at the centre.
The formal handover was held on July 24, with A. Ramesh Rao, Vice President, and Roshan R, General Manager at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, handing over the equipment to CHC Bidkin authorities.
Dr. Shaheen, Medical Officer at CHC Bidkin, said the new infrastructure would strengthen the centre’s ability to serve communities across the block.

The medical equipment supplied will significantly enhance our diagnostic and treatment capabilities, particularly in maternal and emergency care. This support strengthens our ability to serve the 3.8 lakh population across Paithan Block and deliver quality healthcare services to our community.”

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been undertaking community initiatives since 2001 in areas including education, environmental protection, road safety, skill development, health and hygiene, and disaster management.
While the long-term impact will depend on staffing, maintenance and the sustained availability of medical services, the addition of essential equipment gives CHC Bidkin greater capacity to meet the healthcare needs of a large rural population — an upgrade that could matter most when minutes, rather than kilometres, determine the outcome.
