Mumbai: Škoda Auto India has reported its best-ever half-yearly sales, delivering 38,894 units in the first half of 2026, a 7.5% increase over the same period last year. The performance marks the brand’s second consecutive year of record-breaking half-yearly sales in India.
The latest figures build on Škoda Auto India’s momentum from 2025, which the company described as its biggest year in the country. In the first half of 2025, the brand had achieved its then-highest half-yearly sales in its 25-year history in India. H1 2026 has now pushed that benchmark further — proving that records, much like traffic signals in peak-hour Mumbai, are not always meant to stay still for long.
Commenting on the milestone, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “Our record half-yearly sales reflect the growing confidence and trust customers place in the Škoda brand. In 2026, we have strengthened this connection through a focused product offensive, customer-first initiatives, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The demand for the new Kushaq, updated Kodiaq, and the all-new Kodiaq RS, which sold out in just six minutes, highlights strong market momentum, while the Kylaq continues to drive volumes and the Slavia reinforces our sedan legacy. We remain focused on delivering differentiated products, transparent communication, and a delightful ownership experience to support sustainable long-term growth in India.”
The company said demand across its product portfolio contributed to the sales performance. The Kushaq, updated Kodiaq and all-new Kodiaq RS have supported the brand’s premium and performance positioning, while the Kylaq has continued to drive volumes. The Slavia, meanwhile, remains central to Škoda’s sedan presence in India.
Škoda Auto India has also expanded its network to more than 340 touchpoints across the country, aimed at making the brand more accessible to customers. The company recently inaugurated Škoda Express Care, a service initiative designed to improve convenience, transparency and customer peace of mind.
Beyond sales and service expansion, Škoda Auto India has also leaned into its performance heritage. The company’s fleet — comprising the Slavia Monte Carlo, Kushaq Monte Carlo, Kylaq, Kodiaq and the limited-volume Octavia RS — set an India and Asia Book of Records title for “The Fastest Multi-Car Relay of a Single Manufacturer on a Circuit”.
The record was achieved at the CoASTT track in Coimbatore, where all five cars, including driver change-over times, completed the relay in a combined lap time of 12:30.97. The exercise also formed part of Škoda Auto India’s “Greatest On A Track is a Škoda On A Track” campaign, highlighting the brand’s engineering and dynamic capabilities.
For Škoda Auto India, the first half of 2026 signals a continuation of its recent growth trajectory, backed by new products, wider retail access and stronger customer engagement. As competition intensifies in India’s passenger vehicle market, the brand’s latest record gives it a stronger platform for the rest of the year — and perhaps a few more stopwatches to chase.
