JSW MG Motor India Sales Rise 30% in June 2026, Led by Strong EV Demand

Gurugram: JSW MG Motor India reported its highest-ever monthly wholesale performance in June 2026, selling 7,568 units and registering a 30% year-on-year increase compared with June 2025.

The company said the growth was supported by steady demand across its portfolio, which includes both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles and New Energy Vehicle (NEV) models. Electric vehicles remained the main growth engine, contributing more than 75% of JSW MG Motor India’s total sales during the month.

The strong EV share comes at a time when buyers are increasingly weighing running costs, fuel prices and broader market uncertainties before signing the cheque — or, in the case of EVs, plugging into a new way of driving. The company said rising fuel prices, lower EV running costs and geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia further accelerated customer preference for electric mobility.

“Our June performance reflects steady demand across the portfolio and marks our highest-ever wholesale performance, with electric vehicles continuing to account for a significant share of our overall sales. At the same time, we are seeing encouraging customer response to our ICE offerings, reinforcing the strength of our diverse product portfolio. We sincerely thank our customers for their continued trust in our brand. As we move forward, we remain committed to introducing advanced, new-age mobility solutions that meet the evolving aspirations of Indian car buyers,” said Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India.

The June performance also comes as the company begins deliveries of the recently launched MG Majestor, its flagship SUV. JSW MG Motor India has described the model as India’s first D+ segment SUV.

While electric vehicles continue to dominate the company’s sales mix, the management’s comments indicate that JSW MG Motor India is also seeking to maintain balance through its ICE offerings. That combination could prove important as India’s passenger vehicle market moves through a period where buyers are showing interest in both cleaner mobility and familiar powertrains.

With EVs now forming a substantial majority of its monthly wholesale volumes, JSW MG Motor India’s June numbers underline the changing shape of India’s car market — one where battery-powered vehicles are no longer just a talking point, but increasingly part of the sales chart.
